Catch can options
Forgive me if this has been beat to death somewhere on this forum (which I suspect it has) but the search keeps taking me back to home screen.
What are my alternatives for a oil catch can? Looks like the Mishimoto one is the overall favorite but seems a bit cumbersome to empty. What others are there ? If the Mishimoto one is "the one to go with" where is best deal to be had? Thanks |

I went with the Mishimoto as you can see. I too was concerned about access draining it, so I installed a petcock. Then in between oil changes I remove and washout. Has worked well, I had deposits before SC install. Last inspection was nothing

I also have the Mishimoto catch. I would NOT recommend it for the simple fact that the two plastic hose fittings tend to loosen up. The unit works fine, I just have to re-tighten these fittings every few thousand miles.

Here's a great thread with some results showing the E2-X Catch Can.
http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...2#post10140992 For the absolute most effective system offering the most protection on the market, our systems are unequaled. Here is an example of the test anyone can do to verify against ANY design of can: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=512223 Were not talking nominal differences, were talking 15-30% vs our patented 95% effective design. Technical questions? Tech@EliteEngineeringUSA.com Sales@EliteEngineeringUSA.com We have had this "catchcan challenge" going for years, and no other has even come close. And we provide full time evacuation and maintain a closed system compliant with emission's requirements. (NOT CARB cert for highway use in California yet). |
