Michelin Pilot 4S rubbing

So I decided to go with 255/40/20 front and 285/35/20 rear on factory rims and I noticed that the front tires are rubbing on the inboard wheel well when you turn the steering wheel to lock out, right or left. Has anyone else run into the same problem and what did you do to fix it?

Really? I am surprised to hear that as they are not much bigger than stock at all.

I have the same tires, but not on factory wheels - no issues for me.

I'm surprised too but the P4S is about 1/2" wider and 1/4" taller. Maybe a slim spacer will be enough to move the wheel/tire out away from the liner.

I'm planning to buy wheels and P4S 255 and 295 tires later this year. I'll have to check the specs to make sure the new wheel offset works with these tires.

What is the back spacing on your aftermarket rims, is it close to factory?

Well, I thought I was good to go as I have read where others have run them on stock rims with no issues. It's probably wise looking at the offset of your new rims.

I believe the problem lies with the 40 series tire you have on the front. I had 275/40 and i was rubbing. Went down to 285/30 and was fine no more rubbing

That's probably the route I'm going to go with, down to a 30 series - thanks for the input I greatly appreciate it.
