More sound from ZL1 exhaust?

I wanted to get more, better deeper rumble etc from my ZL1 exhaust is there any recommendations besides a new exhaust system?

If not which after market exhaust system do u like?

Thanks

Out of the stock exhaust? Pull the fuse to leave it 100% open all the time (Even track mode closes at certain times). Next step would be a secondary Cat delete from and exhaust shop OR a Borla 60606 X-Pipe. If you get a secondary cat delete make sure that the exhaust guys take the entire cat-back out so they get a solid weld over the top or you'll have a check engine light.

A Borla X would bolt to the back of the primary cats, delete the secondary, replace the factory X and crushed rear section, and you'd have to cut the stock cat-back just in front of the factory suitcase muffler. Personally that's the route I'd go if not going for a full exhaust/cat-back.

Next up would be an actual muffler system and for me, there's only one name worth using and that's Corsa. I think I'm going to go Corsa Axle-back + Borla 60606 X-Pipe for a full-cat-back since Corsa doesn't make an X pipe for the 6th ZL1.

I went the Borla x-pipe -> Corsa Extreme route. I don't think you'll have any regrets. Personally, it's the best sounding combination I've heard on a 6th Gen.

As to the OP: the NPP fuse pull and/or a secondary cat delete are your best/only options. If you want a true change in tone without it sounding cheap, you'll have to go aftermarket.

Edit: To add, I've had a Borla ATAK system on a 2016 2SS, and the Corsa Extreme is 1-tier higher in my opinion.

2.75 as listed on the Borla Site. They have an adapter (60625) used to attach to 3inch headers.

Kooks axleback was very surprising for me. I went out on a limb and bought it since the price was lower than most. The car has a much deeper rumble. Here's a short cold start video of mine. Use headphone to get a real feel for it.

I got the one with the mufflers. It was the exact sound I was looking for. Just keep in mind you will lose dual mode, and drone is definitely increased at certain cruising speeds. It's all worth it to me though. I paid about $620 for the axleback through a WeaponX sale.

I would be careful with the Kooks, if you can't stand drone then don't buy it. Corsa doesn't drone. Borla claims it doesn't either.

You can do a simple muffler replacement to get a deeper or more aggressive exhaust note. This route saves money because the stock exhaust piping is utilized, not replaced. Keep in mind when going this route you will have to have the stock exhaust tips welded onto the new mufflers.

We offer a number of Cat-back, Axle-back and Universal Mufflers for the 6th generation Camaro. Feel free to give us a call at 707-544-4761 and speak with one of our Support Team members. Just let us know what exhaust note you prefer and we'll give the best options for your ride. You can also get your Camaro6 forum discount when you call.
