Waiting to see one on the road to form firm opinions, but I'm glad I got an '18. Front fascia on the '19 seems to be awfully round, and puts an awful lot of grille out there on the SS. Seems more "Feline" to me, less aggressive. I also prefer the dual, separated hood vents on my '18 SS to the newer, central vent.
But..hopefully someone does like it and buys it in quantity. I'd like to see the Camaro survive. |

....Tail lights look horrible....Like from the recent Malibus or a bad pair of kid's swimming goggles...
The front....not good....looks like they tried to go back to the original 5thGen look and botched it both times....Can't make up their minds to make the upper or lower grille the big one or the small one... Big heck no to the bent spoke wheels that look like they were salvaged from the junk yard... It's good though that they gave it something to identify as a change and the latest version, though.... A 1LE turbo 4...nice addition to the line up...(and more expensive) Missing is a more affordable V-8....A 10 trans, probably a more expensive option to boot. I think there is still hope for an out-of-the-park homerun for the 7thGen Camaro... The 6thGen refresh...not a home run...maybe a ground-rule double... |

As I continue to look at pictures, I see this as clearly taking the car in a modern direction...firmly away from any "retro" themes some people might hope will stay. Can't wait to see what they do with the 7th gen, some people might light their hair on fire.... ![]() I know I've got my ZL1 1LE...and I genuinely love the way Erebus looks...so I'm happy. I like this refresh, but I have no chips in the game, so I can carry on contently without any self-esteem issues about the new kid on the block. ![]() That all said - I'm truly excited to see they added the 10-speed to the SS, folks are going to LOVE that...and that they added line-lock to the SS models, as well. I would put stock in tire companies right about now! ![]() I'm also thrilled to see the addition of the Turbo 1LE. They've been talking about that for a while, I think it's going to be a friggin' blast on the track. |

Can someone photoshop this SS pic and make the car black and remove the Chevy badge? I think if you removed the badge and made the middle black piece blue or have a completely black car it would look great. It also needs a front lip like the SS 1LE.

Maybe this front end will be the same? I'm not sure. Either way I'm happy with my '16. I do want those sweet wheels from the SS though!

I went on hiatus from this site for a while, but time to come out of the woodworks once again I suppose.
I *really* dig the RS dumper. This, to me, is a much more pure and classical Camaro design with the broad, uninterrupted, single slot grill opening. I think it looks a lot better than the original 6th gen design. ![]() But then Chevy, in their infinite wisdom, gave he SS a much wilder design that has already proven to be extremely polarizing. I was a little worried, especially when I saw the 2019 Silverado, that we could end up with a Transformers 5 style fascia. It seems Chevy's new "corporate face" for upper trims is to make their cars look like the front bumper cover was partially torn off. ![]() The rear end definitely needed a big change, and I think they delivered. The tail lamps don't look quite as anonymous anymore and am glad to see that it's more of a quad lamp design. That being said, though, it's really odd how they decided to keep the actual tail lamp housing shape identical to the pre-refresh 6th gens, especially when considering the lighting elements don't seem to match the old body lines at all. ![]() But the benefit, I guess, is you can probably swap them into a pre-refresh 6th gen. If a harness modification needs to be made, the aftermarket will step in. Not sure if this is going to help with Chevy's bottom line motivation of increasing long term sales. I think the 6 cylinder looks the best and is very visually distinct, and I believe that's the most popular selling trim, so we'll see.

Thoughts on the 2019 Camaro?
I think looks wise this is a pretty big change for just a refresh. It almost seems like a completely new generation camaro. Can't really say much about it as seeing it in person is always a completely different experience than looking at an image online. What does everyone think about the refresh, are they doing too much here or moving in the right direction?
