Whipple Supercharger - Upgrade Fuel System or not?
Hello everyone,
Trying to see who has installed a whipple supercharger without upgrading to the LT4's injectors and high pressure pump vs one WITH upgraded injectors and HPP... And would love get feed back from you - likes, deslikes?? I am aware that our cars are limited due to not having forged pistons. I would like to NOT get into the internals for right now, and stay within the limits. I hear different numbers on that - is it 600 hp (ish) to the wheels?? I have a '17 SS 1LE and debating on whether I should just go for the LT4's upgrades right now or later (OR ever?) Not a big racer, more for street driving, and love the car as is BUT want MORE POWER just because... Thanks in advance! |

Head over to the forced induction section and I bet you will get the answers you want. It does seem that here are several people running about 10psi to get in the 600rwhp range on stock internals. There is also a group of people who are saying, stay under 575rwhp with the stock system.
Ted Jannetty is one of the best people to ask and he has some really great threads where he discusses the specific limitations of the fuel system.

I have 2017 SS 1LE, so without upgrading to the LT4's injectors and pump, how much hp & tq can I get to, safely, without compromising the internals? I would love to get around 600 to the wheels, but... Also, unless I leave California soon, I'm stuck with 91 octane for a while... P.S.: I have been talking to Eddie - Thanks! |

Have been reading lots of threads in here, and it seems that it is the best bet to go with the LT4's fuel upgrade. You will be hearing from me very soon. Thanks again! |

I'm at over 600whp with a Magnuson, headers, catback exhaust, pulley and other things. I had to upgrade to the LT4 fuel pump, haven't needed injectors yet.
