What's a fair price for a used 2016 2SS A8?

Topic.

It seems like they're kind of all over the place. I JUST missed one for under $31k. That seems like a good deal. They seem to be readily available for about $33k on the east coast. I'd be willing to travel to get one for less. Realistically for me $31k is my limit. That might make it tough for me to get one I guess. Maybe I need to wait for the 2019s to hit.

I've seen them as low as $25k for one in Louisville, but most in my area for about $29k. Thing to look for is a lot of the cheap ones are coming off of rental fleet. Check the carfax first.

rentals are around $30k, non rentals go for about $33-34k. A lot will depend on what options it has like sunroof, MRC etc.

That's been the tough part. All I want is A8, black/blue/red/gray/white, and NPP. I would love Kalahari but I've given up on it.

If you are seeing 2SS's go for under $30k they are high mile, salvage or 1SS's.
Rental fleet camaros are 1SS's.

I picked mine up in January of '18 with only 5550 miles. (2016 1SS Convertible with MRC, 6M) MSRP new was $47,460... got it for $29,500. According to Car Fax, car was purchased new at same dealership I purchased it from in November of '16. It was stored till April of '17 and traded in December of '17. Basically only driven 6 months. It's not a 2SS Coupe with an A8 but it should be comparable in price.

The 1SS convertible is not comparable in price to the 2SS used value.
The 1SS convertible(still very nice cars) have unfortunately tanked in value due to the fleet rental market.

Compared to natiowide search of used 2SS's from cars.com filtered from lowest price:

Prices in the Northern areas of the country may go up somewhat now as it is now Spring. I bought mine on a cold 15 degree snowy day in early January. You get a lot of car for the money when buying a slightly used one.

Still, I think this puts the barometer for a fair price firmly in the $30-$33k range for a 16

A '16 1SS Convertible vs. a same mileage and condition 2SS Coupe both with MRC , 6MM, and NPP were...$24,609 (1SS Vert )vs. 2SS Coupe $28,170. This was Trade in Value according to KBB. So you are correct that the 1SS Convertible is plagued by a lower value because of the rental car history. In 2016 however only 372 1SS Convertibles were built and very few of them were rental cars. Mine for a fact was not as it is equipped with MRC and a 6 speed manual, plus I have the carfax history. Regardless, the value has tanked just the same. Glad I bought it used because all Camaro's drop like a rock in value!

Yes used is the way to go for sure! My last 4 cars were bought slightly used. KBB can be a reference but trade value can vary. My 16 2ss M6 coupe with MRC and sunroof with 12k miles was just appraised for 30K trade in value at 2 different dealerships 3 weeks ago. One was over the phone without seeing the car.

$28K for a 2SS has miles or is a crazy deal, not coming up in any search I can see other than salvage or with miles. Not one is asking 28k in the link I provided above from a nationwide search.

Car guru natiowide 2ss manuals under 20k miles range from $32k plus. I'd paste the link but it isn't coming up filtered properly the way I'm seeing it. Filter 2SS manual under 20k miles in Car Guru nationwide search and you will see.

That's a good and reasonable price range for a 16' 2SS.

On autotrader. That's where I found my 17 RS, it was a leftover new 17 that I got for dirt cheap. Just had to drive 200 miles.
