It was made by popular hot rodding as a project car years prior. One of the coolest cars they have ever done IMO.

Looks cool. Maybe this around the bottom of the car.
Or below the lower grille.

If anything other than a couple of subtle American flags on the front fenders behind the wheels or below the side windows, I'd go with an aviation theme.
