I've run many different tires over the years on many different cars. I ran a set of 555's (originals not the G2) a few years back mostly for the price. I've driven on the new G2's and found them an improvement but not drastically so.
IMO they are a compromise mid-tier tire. They are affordable with descent traction and good treadwear. Tires, like a lot of things these days are very subjective. You have to weigh the different aspects of what's important in a tire and buy accordingly. Most people will find price the most important factor before moving on to things like traction, ride quality, stability, adverse weather handeling, etc. After having had many sets of performance tires, I find that trying to save a couple hundred bucks on tires are not worth the trade off. If I was looking for a excellent all-around performance tire I'd be between the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or Continental ExtremeContact Sport. |

I just installed these yesterday since I was looking for something cheaper yet still ok performance-wise, and have yet to push them to the limit, but they seem to be pretty good tires when compared to the stock goodyears. I'll keep running them and see how they do compared to the good year runflats.

NT555G2 are just a ultra high performance summer tire, whereas the P4S are considered max performance summer tires.

How is the ride quality such as comfort and noise compared to stock?
We all know that same spec tires can be different between manufactures, do these run the same width or a little narrow? |

I'm thinking about getting these for the fronts (285), and some Nitto NT05 for the rears (305 or 315s).
Can you drive with the NT05R's as would love those but I only goto the track twice a yr so they seem overkill.

Nitto NT555 G2 Tires
Finally got in the garage on Friday and put my Nitto's NT555 G2's on. 285 front and 305 in the rear. Just a short drive to settle the suspension from jacking the car up but they ride great! I was starting to snow and temps were 32 degrees so nothing tricky but I did punch it and they held on with little no tire slip, felt real good and assured. More snow tonight into Monday and 70's by Wednesday with storms. Don't like Indiana weather, stick around, it'll change.

Nice car you got there! Is your car lowered? That’s the setup I am going to go with. And what did the ‘ss’ badges you have on the side of your car come off of? Thanks David

He probably got the SS badges from searching ebay/etc for "SS badges". They are likely just reproduction badges with sticky tape on the back side. |
