lol initial quality. Doesn't mean anything. How many old hyundais/kias do you see on the roads? Around here you're lucky to find a 2010 or older. It's like someone does the world a service and disposes of these old turds. I see more sunfires/civics/corollas of the late 90s/early 2000s vintage.

But on topic, I would definitely take a mustang over a kia. Hell, I'd walk lol

I like Hyundais. Especially the new genesis. Haven't driven the stinger yet. Good value, reliable cars. They're usually thousands cheaper than equivalent Honda, when you buy a used one.

Honda civic type-r, Kia stinger, exciting cars, good times.

The oldest cars I see on the road are usually American brands. My boss drives a 95 Impala SS. Falling apart inside, but the drive train still works good.

Maybe because imports are driven by people who think their car is a washing machine. Use it up and throw it away.

As for imports I would say the vast majority are not heavily as car enthusiast as they are people who just want a reliable machine to commute in. Once the cost of ownership (repairs) begins to exceed the car's values, newer cars become on their scope.

As for the Kia Stinger, its a pretty impressive car I'm not denying that, likewise are those Hyundai Genesis...but the comparison against a late model Mustang that only ran a 13 second quarter mile is taking it way too far.

Neither of those cars are something I would consider because I'm not generally an enthusiast of those brands but I don't doubt that their quality can hold up by todays standards, and quite possibly even against our cars *cough* -- blowing rear ends, annoying A8 issues, key fobs that randomly quit working without warning possibly leaving you stranded, electronic gimmicks -- *cough* ...it all comes down to what you really want.

If that Stinger came in an AWD with a manual, I would seriously consider it for the family shuttle duties! That would be after some serious test driving though.

I tried a Hyundai Veloster Turbo a few years back in hopes it might make a fun economical commuter, but after driving it I was VERY disappointed. The driving dynamics were very lack luster. Just a few years later, my fun daily commuter is a 2SS. Thank you for sucking so bad Hyundai Veloster!

Yeah, I was the same way. Cross shopped the Charger and Stinger since the Camaro wasn't fitting my family need. :(

I will have to admit though that I got a Stinger this weekend and I couldn't be happier. Great car, handles great and fast! Got a red, GT2 AWD on lease for the next few years. The handling and the interior is what sold me over the Charger SRT 392. Didn't want to purchase the Stinger in case it turns out to be a service nightmare and to see what happens when/if a 7th gen Camaro comes out. Hopefully the design will be awesome on the next Camaro!

The Kia Stinger is the real deal. I ran one when I was launch testing my ZL1. His best that night was 12.768@102.64. He came back another night and ran a 12.50 something I heard. So with a tune and tires it is an 11 second car easy. I assume the comparison was auto to auto. I did finally beat that Stinger by red lighting and putting more pedal down than I wanted. If JalopCrap saw these runs there would be another article saying Stingers can also beat ZL1s.

But that is some terrible GT driving. I have seen stock auto Coyote GTs run 12.4 a number of times. 12.2s with just tires. Was the comparison auto to auto? I am sure 2018s GTs are faster.

So the article is complete BS. What we can say is Kia Stingers are as fast as older modern 5.0 Mustang GTs. There, I fixed it for them. And they need a copy editor. Shabby.

The Kia Stinger GT Beasts[?]The Ford Mustang GT

The Kia Stinger GT runs with older 5.0 Mustang GTs when poorly driven.

That doesn't have the same ring to it does it?
