Back when I had a lime green 4th gen Camaro I learned the true meaning of cop magnet. Not only did I get pulled over all the time for no reason (I really was observing all traffic laws at the times) but there was a night where on the way to my amateur radio club I got pulled over in each of the three towns I drove through going to the event., and once on the way home, so 4 times in one outing! I got no tickets, but each pull over went pretty much the same "What do you have in the car I need to know about? how much did you have to drink tonight? Where are you going?" Everyone gave the same excuse of my license plate light being out, which funnily enough... was working fine when I got to and home from the event. After a while getting pulled over just became a part of life.

Since I've gotten my blue 6th gen? Nothing.

Pulled over about a month ago doing 80 in a 70. Got a ticket. That's the first ticket I've got in 10+ years.

Had a 2012 Camaro SS IBM and then a 2012 ZL1 in Victory Red previously. Got pulled over in the ZL1 once and got a warning. Then the officer chatted with me for about 10 minutes about the car and how he was wanting one as well.

I deserved the 80 in the 70, although I was annoyed that I was going the slowest in the group and was being passed by a few cars including a jacked up Silverado who was easily doing 90.

...but I had the bright red sports car...

Last time I got pulled over it was really sorta cool. I have a neighbor who lets me park a vehicle in her garage (3 people in my house, 4 cars, 2-car garage...). Her daughter is a Detroit police officer. Ocassionally the neighbor’s brother will come to visit from the west side of the state and uses the garage.

So one day I’m out driving and get pulled over. It was the neighbor’s daughter pulling me over to let me know that the brother had changed his mind and wouldn’t be coming that weekend, so I didn’t need to move my car. She said “I could’ve just called you, but your car is sorta obvious...”

Depends on where you live. That being said, my local PD has been on a mission to give tickets left and right as often as they can for whatever they can the last couple months. So far, I've been ticketed for modified exhaust, and for my Borla windshield banner. Never been bothered before, and even had cops pass by giving a thumbs up, or asking me to rev it. Things have changed the last few months tho, for the worst.

One night tho, at the local parking lot where car enthusiasts always meet up on friday nights just to hang out, no racing or other hoodrat shit, the cops came in full force, handing out tickets to every "sporty" or "race" car they could find, weather it was parked off, or just pulling into the lot. Over 25 people got ticketed from as little as window tint or missing plates, to a couple cammed cars and trucks that got state refs. They are meeting and exceeding quotas around here, its ridiculous.

And the tickets I got were when just cruising around town in the evening to the store or whatever. No hooning. Doesn't help my car is bright red, but no flashier than any other car... So i wouldn't necessarily say my car alone is a cop magnet: any sporty or muscle car around here is.

Pulled over once. Got a verbal warning for 45 in a 40. Cop was cool and said "Nice Car".

I think it was a BS stop to see the car.

I haven't been messed with it yet by local law enforcement. Knock on wood thankfully but I do have a tint waiver. They follow me a lot but then turn off or something. I have a radar detector as well. Picks them up on highway beeping a Ka Band to be cautious up ahead.

only time Ive ever been stopped was on campus, the deputy wanted to cite me for my "Illegal Exhaust," he saw the big stock drum and was a bit embarrassed for stopping me lol... In his defense, I was in track mode

I got stopped tonight by a Statie for no front plate. I was doing the speed limit in the right lane so definitely no reason other than plate. Didn't get a ticket, haven't had a ticket since '93. Irritating when I view them as having much better things to do with their time and energy than BS stops.

The Camaros are only operated by a specific unit in that agency whose sole purpose is proactive patrol/community relations.

Soon as read your reply knew yhou were from Washington . They aare horrible about it. But then again their goal in pulling people over for the little things is they might get you for a DUI or other things, like having a warrant for your arrest.

I also got pulled over by a State Trooper for no front plaste...didn't even give me a warning...full $135 ticket. Judge knocked it in half. And no I was not rude to the trooper. He was targeting people that day for no front plate as he gave another guy a ticket that was driving an older pickup truck who's court date/time ended up same as mine.
