Sean, appreciate your input. I'll speak with my local muffler guy to see if he can help make it happen.

This is a little off topic but how do you get to race on that track? do they open it up to the public?

I'm assuming the ZL1 is louder than an SS? I haven't had any noise compliance issue with my 1LE. Are you running a stock exhaust set up?

I guess the ZL1 1LE is capable of 1:49's! The regular ole ZL1 is probably 4 seconds or so off that pace. I'd love to see some ZL1 vs ZL1 1LE track time comparisons if anyone has some? I haven't been able to find many at all.

I'd love to see a comparison where Randy or another pro driver laps both on the same day then swaps tires on the ZL1 so we can see what percentage of the time difference is rubber and what percentage is aero and suspension.
A 1:58 at BW CW13 is respectable. I've only been there once, and I ended up with a 1:57.5 in my SS 1LE. I saw a ZL1 1LE there that weekend, but it wasn't on track...

You have to go with a company that rents the track for the day... like Hooked On Driving

OP - I’m also an A10 owner and drive MRLS a few times/year. 8th gear half throttle is my best advice past sound booth too. Per what the others are saying, Laguna Pipes are your best bet. You can get them for ~$250-400. I’ve not done it yet but know others who have and enjoy no lift driving as a result.

Btw - that overheating transmission fluid doesn’t sound right. I’ll bet yours was one of those overfilled in production. I think there was a TSB for that.

Yes, stock exhaust on my car. I will report back once I've got the Laguna pipes made. I have noticed that SS's have no problem with sound at Laguna. Which is surprising to me since I wouldn't think just the addition of a supercharger would make a car that much louder. I guess more power equals more noise? And obviously it doesn't have the muffling effect of a turbo. Even more confusing is friends with C7's with the same LT1 as the SS have had problems with sound at Laguna.

Have you tried just closing the valves in the settings, but keeping the rest of the steering/suspension in track mode? I'd like to go to Laguna, but all I hear about is this sound issue everyone has here.

I have a 2' ARH header w/ no cats midpipe to Borla Atak...There's no way in hell I feel that I will pass sound even with my Borla Ataks valves closed.

Try Alan Blaine at Blaine Fabrication in Santa Cruz. ablaine@cruzio.com. He has done a number of things for Laguna sound but fabbing up 90 deg Laguna Pipes is something trivial if somebody can drop their car by his shop for measurements. Alan used to maintain my CamaroMustangChallenge car.

Woah, looks like all of the exhaust fabbing can come to a stop...Laguna has ended Sound Enforcement Regulations.

The name of the track is also changing to WeatherTech Raceway at Laguna Seca.

If you read the article to the end it was an april fools joke...lol. They're definitely not lifting the noise level restriction.
