Good idea... It's rainy tomorrow anyway. I run Linux on my computers but I can power up a Windoze VM and install Cosworth toolbox... been meaning to do that anyway.

I mean if the stars aligned and the moon is blue you might even get Chevy to buy the car back from you if it's really deemed an issue. A good dealer will attempt to go to bat for you against GM/Whatever brand it is and see if they can get their rep to come out and inspect and if found a fault, it will be purchased back. I mean think about it...short of unlocking and essentially diagnosing and tuning the problem out, if it's even "that simple" dare I say, it is now no longer a factory car. This is an issue that only Chevrolet could fix...

Again, I don't see how this could be fixed without Chevy opening a support program and totally re-engineering something in this car...
Yeah, that's the sort of thing I cut my teeth on as a systems analyst. I love a hard problem that involves interaction between hardware and software. Too bad I don't work for GM.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. First they have to acknowledge there's a problem. Then establish which model/trim and under what conditions the problem occurs. Then someone has to narrow down the possibilities... and so on... So I guess the real question is what will it take for them to acknowledge the problem? It starts with one customer pointing it out. Then other customers report the same problem. Seems to be to be fairly widespread to me. I've heard complaints here as well as on other car forums - even some complaints on the NHTSA site. It might help if more of us would have our dealers check. See if you can duplicate it with your PDR running then bring it in to your dealers.

Good Luck!!
I'm done with Camaro after how AL.O screwed us.

2010/2013/2017 they lost a pretty good customer.

Hate to admit it but I will definitely shop the GT500 when it comes out. My boy has a HC so I know I wont be buying one of those. LOL

Dealers are not touching my car dragging their ass on my left side bolster, dirty hands on steering wheel, joy rides, scratching stuff, etc.

Has happened to me several times when in track mode. No, I wasn't on the track so I guess it doesn't really count is there a seperate thread with a poll so we can get a number of who it has happened to. I think it's a safe to say it has happened to most at least from what I've seen on here.

Be careful what you wish for:

2016 gt350 tech pack - class action lawsuit for over heating / limp mode issues
2015/2016/2017 - stop sale issued by ford for oil line failure - replacement part was not available for months

And as I traded in my 2017gt350 for a 2018 ZLE, I can tell you from first hand experience - the camaro build quality, technology, performance is far superior in the camaro.

I know how you feel man. Lots of us are upset about getting a ZL1 M6 that was less than what we expected. I was hoping for sort of a modern version of the original 1969 ZL-1 except that it had all that famous GM engineering behind it in the bottom-up redesign.

My first annoyance was that the clunky Tremec 6060 was basically a slightly modified version of my '14 SS. I was hoping for smooth synchros like I had in my '70 Nova SS Muncie M22 4-speed "Rock Crusher". Didn't even need to use the clutch to shift that sucker.

My single largest disappointment was the intrusive, debilitating, built-in bog they're calling the Manual Transmission Protection "feature" (aka Torque Management). It really took the air out of my sails. They could at least give me the option of electing out of the transmission warranty. A configurable torque management system could let us dial-in the amount of torque we need. If it breaks then the tranny repair would be on us. As it is now, folks are modifying ECM parameters and voiding the entire warranty. They like to say it's to protect the clutch but, like brake pads and tires, that's normal wear-and-tear, not covered under warranty anyway. Let me burn up my clutch if I want, right?

The GT500 is a nice car but I don't think I'll divorce Chevy over this just yet. I'm not ruling out selling my M6 when I'm done squeezing all the performance I can out if it stock. On the other hand, maybe by this time next year I'll nix the warranty and do a major Weapon-X upgrade.

AhhhHaHaHa!

I try to put those images out of my head when I drop off my car. Thanks a lot!

Honestly, though. My dealer seems to keep it pretty clean. I get it back with plastic wrapped seats like its been to the dry cleaner and paper floor mats.

Great idea!

There is now a poll at the top of this thread. Please vote and pass the word for others to vote.

This is not track mode specific. I've had this happen many times when not in track mode and with rev matching off.

I'm wondering if this is LT4 specific, or does it happened in the LT1 SS also?

That's scary sh*t. A definite unfortunate reality of dealing with the dealer service department. Valet mode on the PDR can help.

We are kind of between a rock and a hard place on software issues like this one. Decisions, decisions....
