Kooks LTs with Off road Connectors - 6th gen SS catback/axleback choices.

Hey y'all! Currently I got some Kooks 1 7/8 x long tube headers to off road connectors, a 2.75" Borla X pipe, and a 3" MBRP dual Helmholtz Resonated axleback on my 2016 Camaro SS.

I have some exhaust flutter and so I've considered switching from my resonators to either a Corsa Xtreme, Borla Atak, or Stainless Works axleback. Any of y'all have that combo? Would love to hear your feedback and exhaust note. Leaning towards Borla currently..

Thank You!

PFA

With off road connections I’d use the Borla s-type or the corsa sport.

I appreciate the reply! I like it as loud as it is right now. I just want a bit more refinement only a muffler can provide. My buddy has corsa extreme and kooks headers with off road pipes on his 2011 ss and it sounds gnarly I love it.

Stop looking at the brand name. Just because it's the same brand doesn't mean it will give the same sound. Different exhaust design and different engines mean different sounds.

I don't know what flutter means. A video would be more helpful than a picture of your car. But for a more refined tone without killing how loud it is, look for a "resonator" and have it welded in, about halfway through your exhaust. This works on all cars.

Basically what you want is a straight through muffler the same inner diameter as your exhaust pipe. Vibrant makes really quality mufflers, and they won't burn out. Don't go for any fiberglass crap.

The straight through muffler will be great to break up the standing wave in the exhaust and will mellow out the tone for harshness and make it deeper. But because it's so close to the collector, it won't reduce volume.

You mentioned a flutter sound, think it might be an exhaust leak somewhere?

That’s what I was thinking myself, and there was an exhaust leak. Exhaust was welded, sound remained. Then when I got my headers, it was rewelded, and again, sound remained, so I don’t know what the issue is. I’ll try and get a sound clip sometime, it’s really hard when it only makes the sound when I’m moving though. Can’t take a standing rev video.

You're right, I'm just saying he doesn't have the same flutter I'm referring to. But you're right, different designs, and different engines all together. The video is hard to get since it only makes the sound when I'm driving, and I'm a manual peasant, I'll try and take one sometime though.

I already have 2 Helmholtz resonators, but they're front and center near the exit of the car, maybe I'll try and just get 2 resonators put in the midpipes and see if that works.

Thanks!

Have any videos I could hear them in action with? Preferably with some type of off road 1 7/8 headers.

Hey man! Yeah no worries. I haven't had a phone with a decent camera in a few months and I've done a few things since so excuse the quality of the images please lol.
