What would you do dilemma!

Here is my situation:
Ordered an axle back exhaust (hooker non npp SS m6)about 2 weeks back (value $600) and they shipped a the wrong exhaust (hooker axle back npp A8 SS value around $1450).
I told the seller (not Holley/hooker) about the mistake and they said they would update me the next day to resolve it. It has now been three days and not a word. I'm tempted to sell it if I don't hear anything in a week.
Is this fair? Should I wait longer? And I'm not trying to screw anyone over (I told them about the mistake) but I don't want to go out of my way chasing people down on the phone trying to resolve there problems.

I would make another attempt to make it right. Make sure to document who you spoke with and the dates, that way if they try to pull anything, you're covered. good luck

Haha! I don't know about asshat. I have been the one reaching out to them! Even after they have been informed about the issues on Wednesday and said they would call back or email me on Thursday with an update. Now it's Saturday and I have heard nothing. Called them today and they said call back on Monday!?! Then I called Holley to see if they had any info and was on hold for 2+ hours until I gave up and ended the call.
Yeah I have been on the other end of screwing up and you can bet your ass I never left it up to a customer to resolve it, ESPECIALLY after they let me know and did not just keep the item!

He did the right thing and notified them of the mix-up. If they don't get back to him that's their problem. They should have resolved it immediately.

Ok let me get the facts as U think they R

Let me screw over a supplier for almost 900 bucks because they did not answer me in 1 day

Then you will order a new system and the overall net cost to you is 200 bucks more in,your bank account

you my friend are becoming a crook

Everyone makes mistakes. Followup with an email for your record & tell them to call you. Give them one last call Monday afternoon). If not able to reach them, then send a second email outlining your attempts to rectify the situation & as well that they are breaching the sales contract by not providing what was ordered. Then when no response on Tuesday or Wednesday contact your credit card company (if that is way you paid) & tell them the issue. They will dispute the charges & credit your account. If PayPal go through their dispute resolution. EBay & Amazon as well has a dispute resolution process.

+1 Liralen.

I would give him a week to respond. I think this is reasonable and show good will.

I had pretty much the same thing happen to me. I ordered a Kooks axle back system from a company and when I bought it , it was labeled as an open box display.

When I received my order what they sent me was full on headers back exhaust with high flow cats, x-pipe and the axle back. The difference in price was a lot, somewhere around $1350.

I immediately called them and notified them of the mistake due to the fact I didn't have headers, and the system they sent me required headers to use. Well according to them that was the last "axle back" kooks exhaust they had and they told me to keep the one they sent and gave me $40 off my order for the inconvenience.

Because now I have a setup that's going to require me to spend another 1K on headers to use.

It probably took a week to get everything straight so give them some more time, but I wouldn't be shocked if they just let you keep it.
