Ive often thought about fabricating some detachable spikes to deter people from parking too close, where if they open their door and hit my car theyll get a hole in their door skin.maybe something like this

whenever I See a cool car in an empty parking lot, I park my 6th gen SS beside it. I didnt think it would upset anybody, if anything it would put a smile on their face.

Guess I wont be doing that anymore

its a little aggravating when you find a nice corner spot and somebody parks right next to you, not even giving you enough room to get into your car like they always park on the line.

I'm guessing that anyone who parks on top of a car that is by itself in the back empty area of a parking lot is a jealous asshat. This is why you are better off parking on the fringes of the populated area of the lot. In that area you won't stand out like a beacon because you won't look like an arrogant asshat yourself.

Depends I think. I've had some people park next to me and leave plenty of room. Sometimes if I'm in my daily, I'll do the same as sort of a "guard". "Don't worry buddy, I won't let ya get dinged on this side."

However, if the person parks right on top of you, they're an idiot.

I guess I found "the anti-jerk". I parked in a corner spot, so there was only room for someone to park next to my passenger side. A 5th Gen SS parked two spaces away from me, but right on the line, so there was no space for someone to squeeze in between us.

Agreed, if they give plenty of room then it's like they're saying, "I like your car, I know you won't ding me and I won't ding you. We'll protect each other." I'm cool with that and I welcome that. But if they are too close then they're just a douche.

A group of my co-workers and I actually park in the far side of the parking lot together, next to each other. Because we know that no one in our group will hit each other and we're safe. lol

I can see the truck owner now: "hey, that guy thinks he has an awesome car since he parked so far away! I'm going to rattle his cage by parking my old POS truck really close to him. He is a jerk for thinking his car is better than everyone else's in the first place!!!!"

I hate when that happen. When you park far away and somebody will just park next to you when there's F'ing 50 spots open in the parking lot.

If there was no damage to your car, maybe look at it this way: The truck owner saw your nice car, appreciated it, and parked next to you so his beat up truck would get dinged instead of yours. I know that scenario is highly unlikely, but it's a less angry way too look at it.

I'd park in the crowd if people were considerate and mindful of other's property. We know they are not and to many, getting dings are ok and expected.

Yes, dings are a fact of life, but that doesn't mean I should blindly accept and perpetuate the 'don't care' attitude because they are ok with it. It's simple, I give them the room and 'best' spots by parking away. At least show me some GD consideration! If they feel the need to park next to me (after-all it's a free country), at least leave some room. It's common sense and decency. It's not about arrogance. It isn't $100,000+ car. But I may just appreciate the ding-free appearance more than they. Is that too much to ask?

That happened to me a few times.. I assumed they wanted to check the car out without walking over there and making it obvious.

I know I typically look for a nice, well cared for vehicle to park beside knowing that the owner is going to be careful getting in/out of their vehicle...I also leave enough room however to not 'ruffle' anyone's feathers. I appreciate coming out after shopping or whatnot and seeing another nice car parked beside mine (after parking away by myself); however I also feel the rage when a driver of a POS goes out of their way to park 'to close' for comfort...especially minivans, they're just scary

Mustang owners seem to be douchey. I saw a guy in a V6 Mustang. It looked cool so I said "nice car, what year?". He was like "blah 2016" and that's it.

Maybe not a car guy?

Others just give me the stink eye. Don't hate boys. Although the only "Mustang" drivers i'd like to talk to are those with Shelbys.
