I hate to necro an old thread, but since this is the only information regarding the SS battery type that pops up in a google search; I have to add that my SS has an AGM battery from the factory.

Where did this info come from:

Is the AGM battery compatable with the standard Battery Tender trickle charger?

Yes, But a trickle charger is a bad idea when the maintainers you can get for 30 bucks these days are so cheap. A trickle charger won't shut off and will over fry the battery, whereas a maintainer new tender will automatically shut it down and just float the charge when it needs it.

Google shows:

Advantages
Spill-proof through acid encapsulation in matting technology
High specific power, low internal resistance, responsive to load
Up to 5 times faster charge than with flooded technology
Better cycle life than with flooded systems
Water retention (oxygen and hydrogen combine to produce water)
Vibration resistance due to sandwich construction
Stands up well to cold temperature
Less prone to sulfation if not regularly topping charged
Has less electrolyte and lead than the flooded version

Good to know, was trying to figure it out since I have a fancy Optima charger. It has several modes for several battery types. I gave up and just let it default to the safe for all maintenance/trickle phase. :-/

If it is an AGM, I can chose that from the menu. Anyone know if the 1LE SS is the same baytery as the SS? 2018? We sure they are AGM since others have said lead acid?

You think those battery prices are bad, look at the prices for marine batteries.

Both of my camaro's have agm batteries for sure, ss and zl1 but in another post some people said they had standard acid filled batteries. I don't remember the post but I kind of thought that might have been the reason for some of them having slow starting problems which turned out to be wrong.
