Probably a tired question..sorry but about to buy. All season tires 18 1LE

Hi Everyone, I realize there are threads on this but man I have seen so many numbers I am lost and need some simple answers.

I am thinking of buying an 18' 1SS 1LE. I will be trading my 2013 CRT 1LE. I live in Ohio so the weather is sketchy at best. Today was almost 80, on February 20! WTF!!! ..20 degree drop tomorrow. I will be DD'ing the car in snow if its not too deep, rain and dry conditions.

Wife agreed to the purchase, BUT I have to get All season tires (like I run on my 1LE now). With the different size tires on the front (285/30ZR20) and rear (305/30ZR20) I am not having a ton of luck finding something on line in terms of all season..so questions..

1) Should I run different brands if I can find AS tires for FR and RR on stock rims?
2) Can I run a different size (maybe 35) all the way around without rubbing or me making modifications to the car on the stock rims?

HELP!..?

Tom

Would you consider 2 sets of wheels and tires? The 20" SS wheels still fit over the 6-pot Brembos and are a much easier size to find all-season or winter tires in those sizes (245/40R20 and 275/35R20). Narrower tires tend to do better in the snow as well

Do this. My setup is used SS wheels w/TPMS and brand new (255/35R20 and 275/35R20) General G-MAX AS-05s. Those sizes are damn near identical to the OEM 1LE diameters so your speedo will NOT need to be calibrated. You get 50k mile tread wear, narrower tires that cause less rock chips on the rockers, and don't have to dismount the tires from the rims to switch back to the Summer tires. All you need is the 19$ TPMS tool from Amazon and you can bolt up the OEM wheels.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think that’s going to be really the only option until if/when the conti dsw06 come in our stock size.

I recommend doing what mjk3888 said. You can probably search ebay for take off wheels.

By the way, I'm in Columbus too, and it was beautiful. I got my 1LE out yesterday. If you are looking to purchase soon, Dave Gill has a Grey 1SS 1LE in stock. Ask for Scott, he sold me mine.

Good luck with your purchase.

+1 for two sets of wheels and tires. More expensive up front but worth it over time. You get to drive the car with the tires it was tuned for during the summer.

Don't run a tire that's taller than stock. Pretty much every other tire thread is someone trying to run a too-tall tire and then complaining about rubbing. 5th gen sizes do not equal 6th gen sizes.

I was able to get a killer deal on a set of wheels in OEM 1LE sizes (20x10/20x11) to use as my winter wheels, I'm running a rather strange size combo for my All Seasons on them though. They are the Michelin Pilot A/S 3s, for the front I have 285/30/20s and 285/35/20s for the rear. Aside from the Speedometer being about 2-3mph slow at highway speeds I have had no issues with my setup. You could do this with the stock wheels, I just didn't want to mount/dismount tires that much haha

Not that I am aware of. I usually go to Cars & Coffee at Lennox Town Center on Saturday mornings when it is warmer.

I hope you Columbus guys frequent Mid Ohio, one of the best tracks in the nation is just 45 minutes north. I REALLY wish it wasn't 6 hours from me.
