I have gotten off on a lot of tickets when I should have gotten one. But I would have pulled over and let him take a picture if he really wanted. I would have even posed and signed the picture.

Being nice works. Was going over a 100 on a 35 and he put me down as much less instead of over 100. Saved me from a towed car and jail time lmao.

I just paid 340$ after fees and traffic school. for a 65 in a 55 on highway one. Day before Christmas Eve, north of Santa Cruz. "cool it down, we don't want you guys getting hurt" (I was driving my mom's Subaru Forester...)

Haven’t had a ticket or even been pulled over in 20+ years and that’s with multipal Vettes and Camaros, as well as plenty of other fast cars, and its not because I don’t speed once in a while. I did get hit with Laser just the other day but was only doing 73 in a 70, and this morning while driving to work at 4:15 I got hit with instant on Radar while doing 70 in a 60. The detector picked up both, but because it was laser and instant on radar I’m sure they got my speed. Fortunately, the 10 over radar didn’t want to be bothered in spite of my driving the arrest-me-red Camaro on a dark empty road! Knock on wood!!

got let go after getting pulled over going 72 in a 55 in October.
in decemeber right before I put the Camaro up for the winter a statey pulled up next to me going 90 in a 70 and waived his clipboard with a ticket on it signaling no and shaking his head. needless to say I pissed myself and drove 10 under for the rest of the day

TBH I never drive anything less than 5 over. My limit is 10 over OR the speed of traffic (if on the highway.)

Never stopped or ticketed for such actions. Even with a cop, looking right at me with radar, on an empty road. Only been ticketed for 11-12+ when not paying attention on 45 mph speed traps.

Amazing how that extra 1+ mph more over suddenly turns you into a horrible speeder.

Let's focus less on how people speed and more on how they: Run red lights, run stop signs, can't use a turn signal, can't use a four-way, can't use a a roundabout, OR drive dangerously slow, impeding traffic (especially in the left lane on highways.)

And that is my rant for the day.

I do the same thing. After a ticket, and it has been over 3 years for me, I drive so slow letting everyone pass me, I am constantly looking at my speed. Jeezz, it makes you think and rethink.

Exactly, I was Driver's Ed teacher for 10 years and just quit last year. More wrecks are caused by running red lights or not using the blinker. And actually, people going too slow cause more wrecks. It is like the stick in mud in the river, pretty soon, something is going to come down the river and snap you off.

I would tell my students, whatever you do, don't go slow up an onramp to the freeway. You have got to be doing their speed or better to make a smooth merge. Faster is better than slower. You can slow down faster than you can speed up.

I agree with the above, but I think the worst thing is texting. I can't believe how despite all of the warnings about it people still do it. Most of the time I can spot them driving erratically, going slow, hitting the brakes for no reason, not staying in their lane. Much more dangerous than going 10 over the speed limit.

Distracted drivers are EVERYWHERE. Texting especially. It might sound funny or cheesy but having a powerful and EXCELLENT handling car has saved me from MANY accidents already. Sometimes you can't just be defensive when you drive, but also offensive as well.

My motto: ALWAYS expect EVERY driver to do the DUMBEST thing possible. (Run that red light, pull out in front of you, cut in front, etc.)

In my 5th gen 1LE got pulled over 152/MPH in a 70mph 3am zero cars florida turnpike. Cop wasn't mad at all he said you're the fastest person i ever clocked. He started talking about my car and asking lots of questions. At the end he was like you didn't endanger the public so writing a ticket for you would just be a huge expense on you. He let me go

no need for any of that radar/laser detector scrambler tech. Just need to use that "Secret" all the books say the 1% uses to stay the 1%. Positive self delusion. Can't argue with results.
