Center console hard to open and use

I find the center console in our car is hard to use... the way console lid open is very awkward. I almost think it would have been much easier to use if the lid is open on hinged to passenger side instead of back

Is there a fix or upgrade for the lid?

Yeah man I agree, it's terrible. Now try and plug something into the USB port while you're sitting in the drivers seat lol

That would consider as mission impossible. It is very hard for me to open the center console and reaching in. The lid itself acted as blocker for my arm.

I don't have a problem. Plus there is no need to open it while driving.

It's terrible. It's not big enough to hold anything. The USB plugs are installed completely wrong. If you have average size hands, they hit the lid hinge while trying to plug in a USB cord.

The only thing I have in there is the controller for my Type S floor lighting.

the lid is stupid.

The question is, can one be designed that isn't stupid without redesigning the interior of the car?

Part of the problem is that sliver that extends up on the driver side. That is a useless area that doesn't need to exist as part of the lid.

The second part of the problem, is that the storage area inside is too small. I think this is due to the rear area that they have the optional cell phone wireless charger.

They could have corrected that by stopping the lie that the back seats are intended to be used by people. Instead, they could have extended the interior compartment all the way to the back area. Giving you plenty of storage space under a new lid that extends to the back fully. I'd have ditched the wireless charger since that's stupid beyond belief in a car where you need to plug in to use Android auto or carplay anyway.

Chevrolet needs to steal an Engineer from Honda or Toyota, who 's sole job is designing interior components. I find it hard to believe the POS we have as our sole storage space ( I KNOW, we have a glovebox) is such a cruel joke.

im truely disappointed in the storage in this car. I just came out of lexus gs350 and not only were the door pockets huge, the center console was big enough where i didnt have a issue opening it. There also is no coin holder, or extra storage bins like other american cars are usually so good about. Why no top loading bin behind the radio or something, the new Traverse has it behind the radio, Deff missed opportunities

Disappointed means it failed to fulfill your hopes or expectations. You purchased the car with full knowledge of the storage limitations, didn't you?

You can be disappointed with aspects of something you buy and love. All depends on how important the thing is that's disappointing.

When so much of the car is on point, the stuff that isn't (especially when avoidable) stands out that much more.

Since the back seats are useless to sit in, they also make great storage. Just saying. lol

More than understandable, though I think the main use case they had in mind was people using the nav and charging their phone while it's connected via bluetooth.

Incidentally, this is my preferred choice vs Android Auto, I love the way the nav and BT is integrated with the DIC and the HUD, and I don't miss the apps on the phone, those that the car downloaded are sufficient. Not a big google fan either (but I can't justify the iPhone's price to myself).

Just my opinion, of course
