Not sure about run flats or MRC. Is there a way to tell if a car has MRC?

i just got 16 2ss with run flats and got to say that on lots of local roads they are SOOOOO ROUGH, I just came out of a Lexus Gs Fsport with shitty tires and man are these tires tough. Not sure when they go bald if i will get another set of run flats. Only prob is if i dont get the run flats ill have to buy a spare since there isnt 1 in the trunk lol.

When is the last time you had to use a spare? What will run-flats do for you that fix-a-flat can not? They definitely won't help with massive failures like blowouts. Modern tires are very strong with their steel-belted design and the gummy inside-rubber often "seals" around a nail or screw somewhat on it's own, add a little sealant and it's usually solid for long enough to get to a repair shop. Thing is, if you actually have to use the run-flat as a run-flat, it destroys the sidewall, if you put sealant in it and run it that way, why did you get runflats? If you do run it "flat" to get back to the shop, then you get to buy two crazy expensive new tires, to match the tread-wear. The circumstances where a run-flat would actually be helpful are very rare IMO. I'm not saying they aren't useful, but it's more for someone that doesn't want the inconvenience of getting out and attaching some sealant and a compressor and is willing to pay a premium for that convenience.

My 2018 SS Redline Convertible ride is excellent. I believe the extensive bracing underneath, strut bar in the engine compartment, and optional Mag Ride are all factors that make the car the stiffest, most squeak and rattle free vert I have owned. My comparison is based on ownership of convertibles including a Mustang, a Mercedes, a Lexus and three Corvettes.

If I were OP, which I was when I bought my car, I wouldn't even look at a car that didn't have MR. To me, that is the single biggest piece of technology to hit the Camaro since the LS1.

When buying my car, we drove my 2012 Convertible down a bumpy road, then I got an MR car and went right back down the same road. It was a night and day difference. It was pretty amazing.

Just bought a used '16 Camaro SS Convertible with 5500 miles, has mag ride and find the ride pleasing in all modes except track.

I have a 2017 drop top with 15k miles it drives smooth as silk !!

If your convertible has vibration issues it could be a multitude of things

Ive driven 4 gen6 camaros . Mileage ,brakes , tire wear and type . Was the vehicle ever in an accident ?? Etc so many variables contribute to overall ride quality

I reckon it's the car you drove. Go drive a new one and see how it feels.

I wish I had your luck! I am consistently amazed at the bizarre angles sheetrock screws manage to find into my tires! That and the large pieces of steel shrapnel that end up laying in the middle of he freeway and manage to put large gashes in tires through belts and all.
I'm no fan of the run-flats, but there are situations where I can see an advantage.
