Easy, gen X did not grow up with muscle cars and Smokey and the Bandit, so they buy things like Foresters and RAV 4s. Babyboomers like myself are down sizing, we don't have the garage space, too old and fat to get into the car and now I'd probably spend my time and money on this:
https://revologycars.com/car/1966-mu...t-22-fastback/ Also the truth be told, much of the fun has gone out of the Muscle car. In the "old days" factory performace was only so much, no way affordable factory cars (not COPO) was going to beat a purple shaft cam, headers, Holley 4 bbl on an Edelbrock manifold. You wanted fast, pretty much you had to do it yourself. Now it is a wallet warrior thing. Big deal, at least to me. 3/4 of the fun was learning about how the parts work and building it.

In the end, who cares? I see a ton of Mustangs on the road. That makes it a less special car to me, just another Mustang. I get a ton of compliments on my Camaro. |

You're right. You totally convinced me. The Mustang is such a better car. I'll head down to Hertz Auto Sales right now today and get a 17 GT PP for 24k. Thanks for helping me see the light.

Its amazing that even the now 9-yro Challenger is even kicking the Camaro's tail. We can assume it is not the performance/price holding the Camaro back, is it the exterior looks and poor interior?
Maybe more JD Powers commercials is what it needs to get back in the race

I wasn’t aware the interior was crap. I think it’s very nice. I think it looks great too. Combination of advertising, not a drastic styling change and also being the car is less liveable day to day compared to the competition. Less storage, worse visibility etc It’s not a car fir everyone which is cool with me. I like being different. It may not be the best car in the segment for the average person. But it’s still a great car. I love mine |
