Tune Finished but one question.....

Just had Hutter Performance Engines do a tune, everything is fine, but one question that wasnt answered clearly.

When you do an HPTuners tune, does it matter what mode the car is in?

In othe words does the tune get applied too all the modes?

Reason I ask is that I was under the assumption that each mode has a different engine tune for Tour, Sport and Race, from the factory and than Race has a full slew of options too pick from under its header, Sport 1, Sport 2 as an example.

Thanks

It maintains the same tune for all modes. The modes simply change the throttle mapping.

Can that mapping be modified further within hptuners?

And with hp tuners, does / can it be made to rev all the way to redline in track mode like it does with my diablo canned tune?

Ice and Tour use Normal.
Sport and Track use Pattern B.

I don't think we have access to the throttle maps for each mode.

Is it possible to have the AFM on or off linked to the drive modes or is that something that have to be done in a TCM calibration ? For example AFM just on in tour mode.

I dont mind AFM when im on the highway going on trips, i just dont like it when driving around town.

I know it can be turned off in HP Tuners to never turn on.

Not that I am aware of. There isn't any settings for DoD/AFM in the TCM, it's all located in the Engine tab.

I saw your post earlier about the company claiming to have the ability to control it via modes, and I think they are using a OBD2 plug that stays in the car. When it picks up that the car's mode is ice/tour which is Normal mode shift pattern, they allow the AFM to activate, but when you put the car in sport/track which is Pattern B for the transmission, they disable it the same way the Range device disables it.

That's what I think they are doing anyways.
