My local dealer has a new 2017 2LT RS with an MSRP of $39950 for $30588 that's $9362 off of MSRP. Has anyone recently bought a new 2017 or 2018 LS or LT and if so when did you buy it and what did you pay before taxes and fees. I'm thinking about trading on a new 2LT with M6 and NPP and would like to see some recent numbers on similar cars.

My 2017 2lt had an MSRP of $41k and I got it for $34k out the door. Has NPP, a8, nav, lighting and convience. I bought it at the end of Oct.

Bought my 2017 2LT 1LE for just under 30K (MSRP 38K) late October. With year end discounts I'm sure you can get a better price on something similar as long as you don't mind using your left leg...

My salesman called me and left a message saying that with the employee pricing he can get me into an SS for the same payment that I am making now on my RS. I am going to go up and listen. Then I will wait until about Dec 29 and go back and see if they will do any better.

Boy howdy, some of y'all made out like bandits! Nice work.

Bought my 2017 A8 1LT RS V6 in September 2017. Sticker was $31.9K...received about $4.5K in dealer and manufacturer incentives to take me down to $27.4K. Factor in the $4K-ish depreciation hit I took on my trade-in (2016 Chevy Sonic), and I just about broke even with the MSRP, all things considered. Really wanted an SS going in, but knew that the $10K price difference not including the butt-kicking I'd take on insurance every month would probably be too much to finesse with my finances. Test drove the RS, decided it was "fast enough", and drove off about an hour and a half later.

Not sure where all of you live, but here in central California, even a 1SS with incentives is going to run you north of $40K. Seeing people talking about getting SS's in the mid-30K range blows my mind.

Bought my soon to be 17 year old son's car on 9/30/17. New 2017 RS Garnet Red Tintcoat, V6, A8, 1LT, sunroof, front license blacket. Listed for $33,550. Had been on lot over a year. Got loyalty & educator rebate, dealer discount off sticker (they got it for me in another state, 602 miles on it when delivered). They said final cost was less than supplier cost. There are plenty of left over new 16 and 17's out there. Find what you want on cargurus.com. Configure it on kellybluebook.com to see what others in your geographic area have paid. Great deals on 16/17 if you find a dealer wanting to clear for 18's.

Some of those great advertised deals can only be financed, try and pay cash and see what happens.

The only way you might be able to get a price like that is to wait and see if any dealers hang 20% Bonus Tags on an existing inventory RS this fall. Then try to negotiate another 10% dealer discount.

Right now is the worst time to be shopping for a new Camaro.
OP didn't ask about a 4cyl

Our deal was $6250 off sticker plus tax/$409 Doc fees. Car had been on lot over a year. 2017 Garnet Red RS, V6, A8, 1LT, sunroof, frt tag bracket. Family gift for son. Grandmother $, he had saved $7K, Mom and I finished up. Dealer worked hard to find just what I wanted. Very satisfied. Cash deal. He got it transferred from a dealer in Arkansas who was ready for a '17 over 400 days on the lot to go. Look on cargurus.com. Lots of new 16/17 out there still.

New '17 leftover January 9th 2018. 2LT, RS, sunroof, lighting and convince, A8, 3.6, remote start, 20" low gloss black 5 spoke wheels, black front and rear bow tie, deckled blackout decal ( which I'm going to remove soon ) $40410 sticker. I was way too anxious and wanted the car so I traded my '15 2SS. Claimed they gave me $25,000 for it and $9000 cash out the door tax, tags and all that. I hate negotiating. Originally they said my trade and $13,000. I swear these guys go to acting school. Lot's of drama- on my part too, but mine was real! I should've walked out but I was TOO anxious and I really wanted the car. They knew it. I search in a 50 mile radius and there were a couple maybe with everything I wanted.
I like the car. Don't miss the 2SS. Long story. I like the Gen5 design but it's looking a bit old and the Gen6 looks fresh and refined. Handles better. Lighter. Fun!
I probably paid more than anyone for this model '17 2LT.

Holy crap. No offense or anything but dude that was a complete rip off.
40k for a car thats already a year old and you got it during the most heavily marked up season of the year, they should have practically been begging to give it away since it was a 17 model and the 18's are out.

You EASILY could have walked off with a 6th Gen 1SS or probably even a 2SS for that price. They saw your need and played you into their hand, never never never want the car... you always have an alternative car you can get at another dealer and let them know that, they raked you man.

Lots of speculation in terms of what you are inferring.

Free market economy; a product is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

It's a business, they have to make money. They got a good return, he got a car he wanted. Win-win. No need to be a condescending jerk.

Not every transaction has to be about taking a dealership to the cleaners and nickel and diming them; especially if you want to maintain a good business relationship with them down the road for whatever reason.
