6th gen. I can't speak for the SS but I switched from a 5th Gen ZL1 to a 6th Gen ZL1. Best choice I made, the car is 10x better than the previous generation.

So after getting screwed out of the '16 I put an offer in I found another one! This one is a '16 2SS nicely loaded up. I agree with all the comments here regarding interior quality and overall improvements over the 5th gen. I still really like the looks of the 5th gen 1LE though! Anyway, thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread and helping guide me to my decision! Here's a pic of the '16 I will be finalizing the deal on this Saturday!

Nice you will love it, night and day difference I like to say the 6th Gen is what we wished we had in the 5th Gen for interior styling, and creature comforts. I love my 5th nothing wrong with it, but after owning it since 2009 it felt dated.

Enjoy it

I would bet you have zero regrets! A few weeks in a 6th gen and you will wonder what you were thinking about buying the gen 5 1LE.
This is a recurring story here. The 6th gen tends to exceed expectations. It is pleasantly shocking what Chevy has produced at this price point. Check out the Nurburgring lap for the ZL1 1LE on street tires on youtube. At $70k it is crazy value. Your 1SS will make you proud.

Didn't read this whole thing, so maybe said already. Wait until a 2017 1LE comes up used.

Oh, looks like u made a decision. Good luck with the deal.

2SS Gen6 or nothing! I wasn't interested at all in the Gen5, and only decided to look at the 16 due to the Alpha chassis and Corvette engine. I was dead set on a Mustang track package until the Gen6 SS came out, and I started researching and reading all the reviews Then went to drive some as well as the Mustang. For me, it had to be the 2SS, sunroof, manual, and navigation. I know a lot like to use their phone, but I really like the navigation in dash and this unit works well. I also looked at the 1SS but at this stage of my life I really wanted the 2Ss amenities.

Good luck on your decision!
