Pulse Lock Up Converter

Hi eveyone. My SS that I love dearly is having a problem with the pulse lock up converter. After having the car Dino Tuned, it now feels like going over rail road tracks on and off whenever the converter tries to lock up. RPM goes up 3-400 rpm and back and forth. Took to dealer and they say it is the nature of the beast and normal? Any ideas out there? The tuner described the TC as a pulse type vs the regular lock up and the issue is all over the internet. Looks like it is. Has GM put out any service bulletins other than change the fluid. Apparently the transmission is a different computer modular to program and no one can get into it to set the converter to lock up differently but apparently it can be done? Hope someone has gotten a late service recall to replace some parts as mine is getting worse as I drive it.

Never heard the term, pulse lock up converter...but sounds like you have the known issue with TC shudder. Most people describe it like driving over rumble strips.

This is exactly what my car is doing- the RPM's go up and down as the converter tries to lock up. The RPM's go up and down 200 RPM constantly and when the trans is hot and it does it, it is the "shudder" problem. I had the transmission flush done- which a good dealer will do as the first step. Next step is replacement of the torque converter. I am carefully monitoring my car after the flush- it is way better but the RPM's still go up and down 50 RPM. I am not sure if it is normal- guys with the A8- how steady are your RPM's when in 8th gear going steady highway speeds- does your tach needle stay steady or does it move up and down- even a little bit?

Still seeking an answer- anyone here with the A8- look at your tach- how steady are your RPM's when in 8th gear going same speed on the highway or back road- does your tach needle stay steady or does it move up and down- even a little bit?
