Good price on Battery Tender Jr.

Newegg.com has a good price advertised on the Jr. I think this is the best I've seen. Be sure to use the promo code listed.

That one is not really designed for cars. The graphic at the bottom that says it works on cars is for the 4 amp version - not the 750 mA version. I bought the 5 amp version for mine. This one might maintain the battery but if its low I dont think it will charge it. There used to be a graphic with all the different tenders but I cant find it. I used the 750 mA version for my side by sides and mower batteries.

I'm using the 750 mA version and it works fine. It has no problem topping off the battery, even when it was 0 degrees and my car had not been driven in about 10 days. A 4 amp charge to me is not a trickle and would be more useful in fully charging a dead battery.

This is a battery TENDER.....Hence the name… It is not a charger… It works perfect on all our batteries, but is made for topping off and keeping a battery at 100 pct. . If you’re charging for aflat battery, it will take a true charger. I’ve used one of these for the last five years on all my stuff and it works great.

The 4 amp unit is a tender as well. You guys are correct the 750 mA can be used to only maintain the battery in a car. But the battery has to be fully charged before you put it on the tender jr for that unit to maintain it. The bigger units can bring your battery to a full charge and then maintain it like the tender Jr does.

In fact, Deltran recommends the 1.25 amp model for SUVs (not the 750mA model), I would have to assume its due to a larger capacity battery needed for the V-8 engines in many of the bigger SUV's.

I mentioned that it might maintain it, but the graphic at the bottom of the link on newegg that states it can be used to charge the battery is not for this unit. As I mentioned, its for the 4 amp unit.
