New heat exchanger tank (Big 3 Racing)
Big 3 Racing used my car recently to come up with a new heat exchanger/ice box that doesn't require much assembly and doesn't break the bank. It is a 1 gallon capacity and goes under the hood and looks OEM. Come spring I am going to test how it does but is definitely a better option then stock.

It looks like it interferes with the driver's side spark plug access. Does it?

Just not a fan of how it basically sits right on top of the exhaust.

Its easy to unscrew and move if you need to get to the spark plugs. Being a small tank it will be used in small doses compared to people who want to race entire weekends at a time. This tank is a good size to make back to back runs at the drag strip without heat soak and maybe a few 20 minute sessions at the track. It can be drained and refilled in a couple minutes.

Bump... still liking the tank? Have you tested it with ice at the drag strip?

that's retarded to mount over your headers unless your trying to boil eggs..
I often wonder why not seal up the crash support bar to make it into a tank, weld 2 threaded fittings to hold barbs, then weld a filler neck that comes out of the radiator cover with a lid. not adding any weight and not over the exhaust. if you don't care about trunk space there are universal 5 and 7.5 gallons from 200 to 550(with pump) on summit. if ya do care about space there is weaponx tank and a CSP tank that fit under the carpet. also a CPR tank that fits in the corner of the trunk and 1 that mounts on the bumper if you want something custom you can get a hold of outlaw racecraft oh ya there is also a front fender tank available from prospeed.. I'd do one in the trunk it will hold the most..

I installed mine today . But I I used thermal wrap the bottom and sides . 2 layers . 40 bucks . Not bad . It dose take a good wile to get the iats over 140 . The iats stay in check longer and do not spike at the redlights or stop and go trafic . But I have yet to try the ice. But next Test & tune I will. Will keep u all posted . By the way it holds little over 2 gallons and its a nice piece .
