The excuses will continue to be that the PP2 should be compared to the 1LE. Funny how Mustang guys didnt think the expensive GT350 was 1LE competition, but the expensive PP2 is. Whatever, in the end of the day the fact is the Mustang has NEVER been good at carving corners, but it has made improvements and at sale prices it will be a good value. I dont think there is a S550 out there worth MSRP, but I also dont know anybody that has paid MSRP for one, so it works out.

In the end, it is right there in track times with the M2. For most, that is plenty of performance.

#1 is the Nissan GT-R, and man will it roll out w/AWD! Hoonigan style! Glad I'm keeping my 16 GT because of price. My 16 GT was $30,000.00 OTD w/3.55:1 and paddles.

All listed in that summary were manual transmission cars. I have clarified that post to state this.

It's exactly what EVERYONE thought was going to happen. The 1LE has wider front wheels and tires than the mustang has rear for Petes sake.

And again, 0.1 seconds slower in the 1/4 mile is right there where everyone was expecting. It's a drivers race in acceleration between these two cars.

And there it is. Another tire excuse. Nevermind that the PP1 is almost a full second slower than the base SS. And the base SS has worse tires than the PP1. So far Mustang you are 0-4 this generation. Maybe the GT500 will be faster at something vs it's competition.

Yeah, the GT500 will be a performer. The problem will be the price tag, coupled with continuing Ford quality issues.

It still wont be the fastest in its price category.

EVERYONE expected the PP1 to be slower around the track...and it was. No excuses, the PP1 is just inferior to the 1LE in regards to equipment. It shows you that these two cars were not produced with the same intent.

The acceleration of these two being 0.1 apart shows that (again), these two are a drivers race in a straight line.

None of this is any surprise to anyone.

It's probably be a surprise to the dumbasses claiming the '18 is underrated or that average dynos show 10+whp difference. Didn't translate to actual performance as expected.

I never went for the chassis dyno hype.

Using Fords advertised numbers and comparing hp/weight ratios, the GT is performing exactly where many thought it would. It's a mid 12 second car with a manual (just like the SS) and a low 12 second car with the auto (just like the SS). I've said it all along that the A10 would provide the greatest acceleration benefits over A6.

Agreed, but you know some people are educated beyond their intelligence.

Glad to see some of you Mustang boys are coming back down to earth!

The '18 refresh has made the Mustang a competitor again, but that is all. As of yet it has not beat the Camaro in anything. Even when the A10 is matched against the M6 it still struggles.

Yeah, the dyno bandwagon jumping was unreal in that regard.

Really, that's all most were wanting. M6 to M6 and A8 to A10 are pretty evenly matched. The SS has an advantage with low end torque and 60' and the mustang has a up top MPH advantage. The SS has a definite tire advantage over the base GT (base GT has skinny all season radials) and it takes getting the PP1 to get up to SS levels.

Where abouts in the Upstate SC area are you? I live here too and as of today am getting 255/275 ALL SEASON tires put on my 2017 SS 1LE. If you have a S550 PP Mustang I would be more than happy to show you it is NOT just about the tires. Is 255/275 the same size as the PP1?

Edit: Please don't read that as some sort of jab. Just thought it might be fun to compare cars with similar tires, if you have an S550.
