I believe you have to buy direct from Tony. He's a pleasure to deal with. Compared to another vendor I was dealing with on here, his responsiveness was about 100x better.

I PM'd him on here, and he responded literally within minutes (for that matter, every time I've messaged him, he's responded nearly instantly). He then sent me a payment link which I submitted immediately. He then told me he'd ship it on a certain day, and that was the day I actually received the thing. We chatted a bit about me trying it without a CAI. Overall, it was as easy as it could possibly get and he exceeded my expectations in communication, delivery, product quality and results.

I just ordered one too, and can vouch for the great responsive customer service. And for those that don’t know this, Tony was Air Flow Research’s (AFR) lead cylinder head designer for many years. That’s about all I think I need to say concerning his knowledge and competence with porting and air flow.

Installed mine yesterday. Drove about an hour down to MSR to watch the F4's in action and couldn't tell any difference at all. Not doubting Tony's knowledge or skills, just feels a bit like the Emperors new clothes to me.

It seems the manual trans owners get more noticeable benefit from the TB swap. Maybe send an email to Tony? If not satisfied, at least he has a money back guarantee.

Do we have to disconnect battery negative, or it is not necessary?

Not necessary, but a good idea if you have the time.

I'm surprised by that, throttle response and control felt much better for me. Great thing about Tony, if you don't like it send it back.

Question though, did you do a CAI before hand?

No, throttle body was and still is the only mod.

Honesty is always appreciated. Think you are the first one to post that there was not a noticeable difference. Keep in mind that the most notable gain is the Throttle response. RotoFab with the TM T-Body is a killer combo.

Ricco,

Your experience with one of my ported TB's is certainly the exception and not the norm (in fact it's extremely rare that my customer isn't immediately smiling after just driving it down the block). To be honest just looking at both visually its easy to understand why the ported unit would respond better, and how the much more streamlined shape of the TB housing adds power (15% more airflow adds about 12-15 TQ and HP gains across the board) but as kwav8r has mentioned, I do offer a money back guarantee that's not just something I conveniently say to help sell some parts. If for whatever reason you don't feel it was worth it in your particular application send it back for a refund.

However I would encourage you to try it a few days....it may take a little time for your computer to properly fuel the extra airflow the more efficiently shaped TB provides....basically it may need some time to "learn" etc. Usually my customers experience a very notable gain right away but for whatever reason your car may need a little time to adjust. Certainly worth giving it a week to better gauge the gains from the swap. Also have time to experience some WOT stuff as well which should feel a bit stronger.

Feel free to contact me via email or PM if you have any questions (or want to return the unit), but I would encourage you to put a little seat time in before doing so

Regards,
Tony

I think his expectations might been a bit too much tbh. There are dozens, if not hundreds of client testimonials including mine w/dyno results showing gains. This isn't a 50 hp mod guys. smh.

I have no intention of returning it.. I'm not doubting it is a quality piece, and also anticipate it would outflow a stock throttle body.. My observation was just that it made no noticeable difference in the way my car performed (to me at least).

I've actually been trying to figure out who you are to confirm I didnt send you a ported TB for an LT1 by mistake (which are ported less aggressively on purpose). I looked and I know I never got a PM from you.....can you hit me up via however you got hold of me previously so I can look in my system and confirm what I sent you?

That would be helpful
