I got into my Camaro today and the MyLink asked did I want to update the network driver. I said yes. Then it downloaded a ton of stuff. I had to delete most off the home screen but there are a ton of new apps available in the App Shop, including Pandora!!!

The Pandora app uses the car’s built in WiFi connection. No phone tethering required to make it work. If you don’t have an OnStar WiFi plan you can create a hotspot with your phone and have the car connect to it and use that data plan.

And of course. Pictures or it didn’t happen.

Lol that seems to be most people’s response at this point...Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Does it work with the Camaro 2016 ?
I'm trying to put my iphone as a hotspot and in my camaro 2016 there is no such option please can someone help me how to do it

This isn’t available on 2016s. The 2016 has pandora already. As well as no App Shop on 2016. The HMI unit (what powers the MyLink) is upgraded on the 2017+

I need help! I went and got my 17 1LE out of storage and I did not see any request for MY Link updates. Can someone walk me thought the step I need?

For those having issues getting it. Make sure you have the following in place.

1) Clear View of the sky and strong/decent LTE signal on MyLink.

2) An active data plan via OnStar or bundled with your ATT account.
- Or -
Your Camaro connected to your home WiFi (any WiFi that doesn’t require a page to login like at Starbucks) or to your phone’s mobile hotspot. (It’s under the settings icon on the car not sure exact at the moment to connect to a WiFi signal).

3) It should update after a few minutes. If not try again later.

Without the data connection it won’t happen. I’m also seeing others post (on Facebook and another thread) the update never prompted but once they went to the App Shop the new apps were available there.

This is kind of what happened in my car. Just recently re-enabled my Onstar data plan. Got in the car to drive and noticed a bunch of apps started downloading to my car. Next time I stopped, I scrolled through the MyLink screens and most of the apps in the OP's screenshots were there--but not all. Then i opened the App Shop and found the rest. Downloaded all of them! Some are pretty nice....

How to use your iPhone as a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot
This works on a 2017 ZL1.
Make sure your iPhone’s data plan is sufficient for both your phone and auto usage.
Power iPhone thru console (not thru CARPLAY Aux port)
On iPhone:
SETTINGS:
DISPLAY & BRIGHTNESS - AUTO-LOCK —> NEVER (this ensures your iPhone will not automatically shut off thus disconnecting the hotspot)
WIFI —> ON
PERSONAL HOTSPOT - PERSONAL HOTSPOT —> ON
Use PASSWORD shown to set up MYLINK WIFI

After WiFi setup before starting car, Turn on iPhone to PERSONAL HOTSPOT which will now be discoverable by car.

SETTINGS - CELLULAR - CELLULAR DATA —> ON

On car:
MYLINK
SETTINGS:
WIFI
WIFI —> ON
MANAGE WIFI NETWORKS
ADD OTHER NETWORK
IPHONE, security WPA2, use PASSWORD from iPhone personal hotspot

After setup you may have to occasionally go to MANAGE WIFI NETWORKS and select IPHONE from available networks
