the car is clean again after a long time so I decided to take some pictures before and after I switched to street/winter setup. My winter tires are not actual winter or all season tires since it's not my DD. However, as it doesn't snow here in PNW as much I should be fine with some Max Peformance Summer tires (el chepo Kumho ECSTA LE SPORT in 295/30/19 all around)

Anthracite grey set (305-325/30/19)

And now the black set with street tires. Poke is much less on the rear with the street tires (duh 295 vs 325 :P )

wear on the NT01s doesn't look bad at all after 3 events (about 12-15 20 min sessions) and 1 additional session in a different event

As expected, rears have more life in them

ST47 pads also look pretty good after 2.5 events

Compared to OEM pads with only 800 miles

About 4 events on the DBA rotors. They still look pretty good and I think they wear a bit slower than the OEM rotors

You touched on not being sure about the wicker bill and then removing it but never elaborated. Why did you remove it?
Obviously GM seems to think there is something redeeming about it or they wouldn't have built an OEM one. It is my observation that the OE is smaller (shorter) than the ZL1 addons wicker bill, do you think a smaller unit that provides a bit of help but not so pronounced as the zl1 addons unit is still worth it?

Would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I didn't notice any difference at the track when I drove the car back to back (with and without it) so I decided to leave it off. I think it's mainly for cosmetic.

I wasn't actively looking to sell my 1LE but had a "feeler" type post on Craigslist
A local Chevy dealer contacted with me and said they're very interested in my car and luckily they also had the Mazda dealer and the car/color combination that I would be interested in.

They gave me an offer that I couldn't pass on (most likely because there is someone looking for the exact car that I have and it's very hard to find these cars in PNW)

Long story short I made the switch yesterday I will miss the car and this community for sure but in the meantime I will be checking posts and answer questions so I won't be a stranger

If it wasn't for a Miata I would never sell my 1LE that's for sure. The new car is a '17 Club edition in Meteor (dark) grey color Soft top. It will eventually get Edelbrock supercharger kit but for now I will take care of the rest of the mods to make it track worthy (roll bars, seats, weight reduction, wheels/tires, coilovers..etc ..etc) . My plan is to convert it to a global cup car but with a supercharger to help alleviate the power deficit (~ 2100 lbs and 210 whp)

I don't blame ya. I had a hard time not getting a new club too. I just currently needed the back seat for emergency use.

Sorry to see you go so soon! Hope to run into you at the track. Thanks again for your contribution. Are you selling your Apex wheels by chance?

I believe he is...

And perhaps he sold them already.

If anyone else is looking, I'm selling my set as well, same specs and also in anthracite.

He came by and picked them up yesterday. If anyone else asks/PM, I will give your information

Wow, you sold your car after a year? I don't have a lot of car ownership experience, but it seems you don't keep your cars for a long time. Is it because you like to try different cars?

Anyway, thank you very much for your help and this thread is a great journey!

Historically I didn't keep the cars for long time, no more than 2-3 years.
One thing for sure though; if it wasn't for a Miata or the deal they that gave me , I would never replace my 1LE for another car any time soon. Luckily the same dealer both own Mazda and Chevrolet dealerships at the same facility so the transition was really smooth. Also because I didn't modify the car.

I didn't completely scratch the idea of coming back to Camaro after a while, if my plan with Miata doesn't go well (keep blowing engines or transmissions for say more than twice for instance) I might always come back. Camaros are better performance cars for the dollar for sure, if most bang for the buck factor matters the most
