I didn't realize the Mustang had that much bigger of a rear seat.

I think GM should have gone with the ATS coupe interior proportions (slightly larger rear seat room).

I wouldn't say rear seats are much bigger, but the difference is sufficient to change the status from unusuable or so (except for small kids) to acceptable usuability even for small adults

Like many I think to be fair 2018 GT M6 PP1 should be compared to 1SS Camaro.

PP2 would be a better match for the 1LE, though not so different from PP1 except from the tires ans wheels, and little aero mods

For what I can tell, having owned a 2017 Camaro 2.0T for 9 month, and currently owning a 2017 Corvette C7 GrandSport M7 and a 2018 Mustang GT M6 PP1 :

- Mustang is way more liveable on a daily basis / with kids
- The revised 5.0 Coyote is my opinion a better engine than the LT1 because :

* It's more refined
* It sounds better
* The powerband is greater, almost as much torque, punch above 4500
and 7500 redline with no loss of power (LT1 is great is the 4500-6200
range)
- Compared to the Corvette gearbox the new MT82-4 is faster, greater to use, but I know the Camaro SS gearbox is great. On the Vette the transaxle complicate things
- Brake bite is really good in the Mustang

As far as Performance it still feels to much the LT1 is more punchy (but my vette is also a lot lighter), especially at low speeds

As far as handling, the Camaro feels more planted (I don't speak about the C7 GS which is a handling marvel), precise. On the road the 2018 PP1 feels pretty good, but not as sharp

I have almost no doubt the SS will be faster (slightly ?) on a roadcourse, and 1LE still slighly faster than the PP2, even more in the long run because of cooling

I just took one time my Stang on mountains roads for now (and on winter tires), but the car was a lot of fun because of the engine, brakes and gearbox
This is a very interesting review for me because I cross shopped a Camaro SS and a MY18 Mustang GT and felt exactly the same way, point for point. Ultimately I bought the 1LE because I was looking for the better performance oriented option, clearly in your case you already have the GrandSport for that. If I were strictly shopping for a grant tourer without bringing the track into the equation, I probably would have gone with the Mustang. Granted I would have waited at that point, because in my region no Ford dealer is willing to deal on a MY18 as they're only now showing up.

He said he had a Camaro. IMO it's more livable because it's easier to get in and out of, easier to see out of, has a slightly bigger cargo capacity, slightly more leg room in the rear.

But it's not. As you stated you got an excellent deal on a $42.5K car. Ultimately if one was to get a base Camaro with $38K MSRP, they can pick that up for less than $37K as well, which you can argue would be a better value, depending on their needs.

- The boot is far more accessible
- Visibility is far better (though it didn't bother me a lot in the Camaro)
- The front passenger has a lot more room/leg space

So as a Daily Driver is it much more liveable

Globally it feels less sporty, driving position is higher
Absolutely on point here. It's more like a 'car', not a 'sports car'. You sit upright, a lot easier to get in and out of.

It's only marginally bigger. If you have kids, doesn't make a difference. I would go as far as to say, the Mustang is only good enough to seat adults in the back if you're running out for lunch, not for long trips. In my experience that rear room did not sway me from a Camaro.

Personally even with my vette, on a roadcourse or night mountain driving () I'm alway above 4000-4500 rpm

The new 5.0 Coyote is a far more modern engine; don't get me wrong, i like the LT1 also, but the new Coyote is better ...
I like the power delivery and the power curve on the Coyote as well, it felt smoother and more linear. The LT1 has a more brutish aspect to it. Not necessarily worse IMO, just different. You step on the gas and the torque is there. With the Coyote it has more build up to it. So I wouldn't say the Coyote is better, I would argue it's different in its delivery. Which one you like and appreciate more is arbitrary.

I completely agree with you, the LT1 is more of a brute engine, not that is bad, it is less refined.

The Coyote reminds Europeans engines in it's power delivery. I'm French and had a bunch of Euro M3, I find the same type of power delivery but X 1.5-2

Anyway I'm putting long tube headers, CAI and MSD Intake manifold + tune of my vette, should make an interesting change

Thats a fair assessment. The 5.0 has a more athletic power band while the LT1 runs out of breath. The LT1 seems to have more of a truck type quality than what would be expected in a sports car (Corvette).

I am looking forward to the DOHC that will be offered in the C8.

That's not at all what he said. Saying retarded shit like this btw is how you lose credibility as a car guy, and earn one as a troll.

Because it is a Mustang. They need every advantage they can get. LOL!!

Which one is faster? Such a shame when the athletic engine gets it's ass handed to it by a truck engine that runs out of breath. That's like a powerlifter out running a sprinter. You've gotta be extremely bad at what you do if you aren't even good at what you're good for.

There's no shame in how the LT1 makes it's power, don't be so defensive. My big dumb engine makes 460 rwhp and 490 rwtq, peaks at 5500 rpm, and is done by 5700. It's probably better suited in an RV, but it's effective in my Mustang. Everything I said was true, that is not some veiled personal attack of some sort. No need to get bent out of shape LOL

I think it was more that your statement made no sense than him being defensive or bent out of shape. I mean, there is nothing truck-like about the power delivery or the performance of the LT1. A truck's powerband and delivery is completely different from a Camaro. So it did come off like a not-so-subtle personal attack which I think was your intention. Nice back stepping tho.

If the LT1 was able to keep producing torque beyond 4800 rpm, it would be a 475-480 hp engine. The issue is the torque production takes a dive at 4800 rpm.

Your "truck type quality" statement was strike out. If you know anything about trucks and their engines or engines in general then you would know that your comment was retarded. Would you say the Coyote in the F150 is the same as the Coyote in the GT?
