Driving my ZL1 in the winter wasn't apart of my plan last year. But it is what it is - therefore I am currently running Pirelli Sottozero 3 for my winter setup. Here in Michigan we get dumped with snow every winter. So far so good, I can still punch it on the highway plus I have much more confidence in the vehicle due to the impressive grip from these tires.

We have been getting a lot of snow in my area since late December. The 2017 ZL1with good snow tires, downsized rims and 150 lbs of sand in a bin in the trunk makes this a competent car in snow. Today, I was driving my sister in laws AWD Subaru Crosstrek with all season tires. It had no where near the same level of grip as my ZL1. Of course it would be less likely to get stuck in deep snow, but in the NorthEast, they are pretty efficient at plowing. Even with the foot of snow we got, most roads were passable. I wouldn’t take the ZL1 into an unplowed parking lot, but I wouldn’t take my Touareg into that situation either.
One surprise. I still like my favorite setting, track, even in snow. Snow and Ice mode feels less natural with throttle being cut very aggressively. Feathering the throttle in track mode works very nicely, thank you.
