I'm also really eager to see this comparison.
Like many I think to be fair 2018 GT M6 PP1 should be compared to 1SS Camaro. PP2 would be a better match for the 1LE, though not so different from PP1 except from the tires ans wheels, and little aero mods For what I can tell, having owned a 2017 Camaro 2.0T for 9 month, and currently owning a 2017 Corvette C7 GrandSport M7 and a 2018 Mustang GT M6 PP1 : - Mustang is way more liveable on a daily basis / with kids - The revised 5.0 Coyote is my opinion a better engine than the LT1 because : * It's more refined * It sounds better * The powerband is greater, almost as much torque, punch above 4500 and 7500 redline with no loss of power (LT1 is great is the 4500-6200 range) - Compared to the Corvette gearbox the new MT82-4 is faster, greater to use, but I know the Camaro SS gearbox is great. On the Vette the transaxle complicate things - Brake bite is really good in the Mustang As far as Performance it still feels to much the LT1 is more punchy (but my vette is also a lot lighter), especially at low speeds As far as handling, the Camaro feels more planted (I don't speak about the C7 GS which is a handling marvel), precise. On the road the 2018 PP1 feels pretty good, but not as sharp I have almost no doubt the SS will be faster (slightly ?) on a roadcourse, and 1LE still slighly faster than the PP2, even more in the long run because of cooling I just took one time my Stang on mountains roads for now (and on winter tires), but the car was a lot of fun because of the engine, brakes and gearbox |

Your opinion on the engines kind of went out the window for me at the mention of virtually the same torque when clearly not only is it significantly less, but also the curve isn't anything special.

Could you elaborate more on this comment: - Mustang is way more liveable on a daily basis / with kids I use my 1SS as a daily driver for 3 seasons and often take my 6 and 8 year old on short trips in town.

The 1LE is to compare to PP2, though I will stay pretty positive the 1LE will be faster on the track cause the GM platform is a wonderfull handling one On the paper the torque is far better for the Camaro, on the dyno it is almost the same, with 400lbt at the wheels or so .... and 420HP+ at the wheels (all stock one hit govenor in 4th at 6800 rpm and power still climbing ![]() You can see you will have 400+ to the wheels from 5500 to 7500.... |

- I can fit on the rear seats of the stang and i have room for my legs with someone in the front seat..But I'm almost touching my head... In the Camaro it was impossible - The boot is far more accessible - Visibility is far better (though it didn't bother me a lot in the Camaro) - The front passenger has a lot more room/leg space So as a Daily Driver is it much more liveable Globally it feels less sporty, driving position is higher |

The car was dealer ordered before I signed and was shown already at this price on their website And then they have cars with absolutely no discounts...Asked why, they were telling me it was up to Ford... Ford sold 10 000 Mustangs in December so they have no problem selling them... PP2 mustang should be in the same price bracket as 1LE Camaro (around 45k) |

Edit: I'm wrong, 2018 prices and the package went up a bit. It seems most are getting theirs around 43K, but retails at 45K for basic 1SS+1LE. |

I didn't realize the Mustang had that much bigger of a rear seat. I think GM should have gone with the ATS coupe interior proportions (slightly larger rear seat room).

Before 4500 I agree, but on the 4500-6000 the torque is the same (if not greater) and after the stang continues to make power when the LT1 goes down....You have a wider power band on the Coyote
![]() Personally even with my vette, on a roadcourse or night mountain driving ( ) I'm alway above 4000-4500 rpmThe new 5.0 Coyote is a far more modern engine; don't get me wrong, i like the LT1 also, but the new Coyote is better ... |
