Even is it was .2, that's embarrassing!

True for the RS and I've no doubt for the V6-1LE. Motor Trend skipped the track part of the 2016 SS vs GT PP head to head completely noting...

The Camaro is faster, rounding the figure eight in 24.1 seconds and averaging 0.85 g in the process. Doing so couldn’t be easier. The Camaro’s steering is quick and precise, the big Brembos allow you to dive into the corner late, and the broad gearing and mega torque curve mean you can do the whole lap in second gear. Traction control is unobtrusive, so there’s no real need to turn it off. That said, if you leave it on, you’re missing the whole point of having a ponycar. The Camaro is a wonderfully controllable drift machine with the nannies shut off, the tail easily gathered back up by minor throttle adjustments.

The Mustang isn’t as quick, and getting good performance out of it is harder work. The Ford laps the figure eight in 24.4 seconds averaging 0.82 g, but it’s hard to escape the fact that it shares much with the last Mustang. “Feels like an old Mustang,” testing guru Kim Reynolds said. “Feels heavy. There’s a lack of damping in the body motions with high pitch and roll rates.” In English: You’re bouncing around a lot. You’re shifting a lot, too, just cresting into third as you enter the corner before shifting back down to second. We like rowing our own gears as much as the next guy or gal, but rushing through the gears in the Ford is frustrating. The gearbox is notchy and narrow; it doesn’t like to be hurried. As for going around a corner slowly, say with the tires smoking and the tail hanging out, well, the Mustang will do it, but balancing the Ford there, I reckon, is as difficult as keeping a U-2 spy plane from stalling at the edge of space. You’re on the ragged edge, and if you’re not careful, the rear end will quickly and without warning come around on you.

Hats off once again to Camaro boss Al Oppenheiser and his team. They took on Germany’s performance standard-bearer, objectively tied it, and subjectively blackened the M4’s eye.

Look forward to hearing what that say. I'll have to hear it from you OnDemand subscribers though. I already used up my free trail for the 2016 Best Drivers Car month when the SS 1LE was competing. I assume it will be up on youtube a month after.

I really wish they would have used a base SS car for this comparison, so there would be no excuses.

There already was a H2H with the base SS. No reason to do it again.

Still said Jan 7th when I watched it. Was there another video?

It's always nice when the acceleration and track testing is done same day/track/driver. In my opinion, the base SS is really the more appropriate competitor for the Mustang GT PP1.

The acceleration results will still be applicable, since the 1LE provides no benefit (in fact the fastest times have been posted on non-1LE SS models, but it's likely run to run variation). It's the handling course and track where the 1LE really has a bit of an unfair advantage.

Price wise there the same, so it’s very comparable.

Technically no, the 1SS 1LE is $44,995 and the base GT PP1 is $39,990 but there is a lot the GT lacks that is standard on the 1LE. So not really apples to apples. Price wise the 1SS vs base GT PP1 is the close one ($37K vs $39K). Or is that what you were implying?

I meant feature for feature. You add mag ride to the pp1! Prices are about the same. If they test without the mag ride, then that will be the excuse for loosing.

Gotcha. Yea by the time you add MagRide, Active Exhaust, and the 301A package, they are right there with each other in features and price (with some small exceptions on both)

The commercial on Facebook says Jan 17, but on Instagram says Jan 7. So the 17th must be correct.
