I'm going the route of buying used SS wheels and likely getting the new General G-MAX AS-05 tires in 255/35 and 275/35 sizes. Hopefully by the end of this month. Seems to make the most sense to me instead without having to compromise on Summer Performance. I'll keep the OEM Supercar 3's for track and autox use. Daily commute on the All Seasons.

Maybe you can calm those who are worried about driving the car under 20-30s and the tires cracking issue?

Engine cranks slowly in the morning. I had a 350z and Mustang before this so i am used to RWD in the snow. Pretty easy and carefully actually.
Cold days and dry is fine once tires are somewhat warm, no slippage at all. Obviously i am not driving full throttle, driving around 2-3k and occasionally go to 4-5k on the highway.

I am not worried about cracking tires as i drive the car everyday. Now if it were sub zero temps might be a different story. But 20s so far so good.

I also got caught in that snow dusting few weeks back in December. Took about 1.5h to drive 40 miles but made it home fine. Would fishtail at every stop light and every shift. Once i got to the highway it was fine as it had no snow cover.

I wouldn't recommend driving 1-2 inches or more as you may/probably get stuck.

Where i live the roads are clear the next day or two, so i do not have to worry about driving with accumulation on the road.

Sir, I salute you for managing to drive our car like this and on the stock tires!
My other location (where my car is right now, but I am not...) is Englishtown and the car is not driving for the past 2 weeks or so.
I have a friend take care of it while I am away. I told him not to drive during the next 5-7 days or so, until it warms up a bit.
It is also encouraging to know from your first-hand experience these days, that the tires can take these Temps when driving carefully.

This is the most economical and practical solution as of now.
You can get a set of used rims and stock SS size all season tires for what a set of 285-305/30R20 rubber costs. They will fit and function like factory, and tires are a little over half the cost of 1LE rubber.

I suppose you could go 1 step further with V6 wheels and 255/35's on all 4 corners so you can rotate.

You are going to rear end somebody in a panic stop.. G3's do not grip below 40. Stomp on the gas and see what happens at 35 degrees..

Run it up to 70 and panic stop.. not sure what yall are thinking.. it's way dangerous...why would you risk hurting your car, yourself, or someone else over a set of tires...? Makes no sense to me..i could drive 100mph in the rain but I choose not too...

You really should consider a winter set.. you may end up with no car... $800 set of rubber could save your life. G3s are in no way safe below 40 degrees.. don't kid yourself. Can you drive it ? Probably.. should you drive it? Definitely not...they do not grip.. be safe! I see you have an 18... nice ride!

I've been driving with BFG Comp2 A/S.
No issues as long as you drive properly.
Hopefully everyone else on the road can.....

👍Good Choice! I've had a set and i thought they were great for daily on a gen 5..Although not available in 30 series. I put mine up for winter this year. I would consider the continentals for gen 6 on stock sizes available....

Yes, we know the limitation of stock tires when it is cold/snow/wet. We are not going to be driving 70 mph or stomping it in the cold. I give plenty of room for braking as i know what would happen, and let people pass me if im driving too slow. It is not ideal, but can be done very carefully. Not buying a winter set of wheel, for when it maybe snows twice a year and in the 20s for maybe 2 weeks. When is just cold and dry it is fine to drive at those speeds... been doing it past few years.

G3s have not been out for"several years" so that is not possible. Why would you risk wrecking a 45k car over a safer set of tires? I don't get it..plus if they do crack you're buying a new set anyway.. keep in mind they may not crack right away. Cracks may show up later..
If you have to leave extra room cause you "know what would happen" you already know you shouldn't be driving these tires in the cold.
