I use flatstoppers:

But really only sits about 3 weeks in the winter here in Dallas (around the holidays)...

You’re going to want to raise the vehicle up. You want to get the weight of the vehicle up off of the tires, because that will destroy the tires over time.

That means you’ll need jack stands or some sort of supporting device. On a vehicle, you want the jack stands out as close to the wheels as is possible.

Because you want the springs compressed.

You do not want them hanging down and unloaded. Which can damage them over time.

A big problem for cars is the tires on them, they tend to flat spot when they’re sitting.

Now the old tried and true way to do it is to use jack stands, one at each corner, as close to the wheels as is possible.

This prevents that. Under this BMW we have something new.

It’s called a tire cradle, and the manufacturer says that it will prevent flat spotting.

You obviously don't know what a LOADED strut is. That means spring is compressed on strut already but not with vehicle weight.

I have no idea if those same recommendations apply to the tires that come on the 6th gen ZL1's, but perhaps that's where the OP's worries came from ?
Exactly sir

Rubber Mats

Of course with the weight of the wheels and tires removed the exposed length of each shaft would be lessened. Hope this helps. I do not use jackstands for winter storeage.
Can you tell me where you got your mats? Are they specifically made for this purpose? I have my ZL1 in a heated garage however i am concerned that the tires will develop flat spots. Thank you for your help.

The car was bult and design to spend its life on its tires. It was only designed to be on its jacking points for short periods of time. Ive been storing cars for many years as friends of mine do too. Non of us have ever lifed a car to store it. I have never seen an valid reason to do so. I can only see reasons way its a bad idea. Number one being the chance if it coming off and falling. No chance of damage while sitting on its own shoes.

Google flatstoppers or other brands. Can be had at Amazon, EBay or other vendors.

The tires will not crack below 20 degrees just sitting there. Only if you try and move it. Had tires exposed to ( -25) degrees.. yes negative 25 degrees.. with no cracking of any sort.

I love this idea. Keeps the car safely planted as it was designed and keeps it's shoes round.

Great idea.
