That confirmed my point. I would think a 6 gen with less miles is worth more than $1k over a 5th gen.

Im am used to losing money on toys...I also own an offshore boat and that hobby makes track cars seem inexpensive.
I don't know what you do but let's be friends.

Back on topic, why not sell privately? Don't want to deal with the hassle?

I agree we all expect to lose money on our toys, but $7K under auction while marking up the new car well over sticker is a stretch to say the least. Only way I will buy GM is if I get into it with a huge discount on the front end, as I'm well aware what happens on the back. I would have to tell that dealer what I thought! There's not a car in this world I would want or need that bad. Maybe wait till spring when the market for these cars is much better than it is in winter.

found a local dealer here in NH to come within 200.00 of the out the door price of the dealer in FL for an ordered car so I could get my 1st choice in color so I ordered one on Saturday. By the time you add the dealer fees and a 299.00 wheel lock fee from the dealer in FL plus a 500.00 FL state fee it was 66184 out the door for a black one and they would not order a car at that price and I am going to pay 66388 out the door for a Garnet Red one and do not have to travel to FL or ship it to get it. Now all I have to do is pay my Z06 off before spring.

I found a car in Fl that was the color I wanted (Garnet red Zl1 1LE) and tried to possibly trade my Z06 (only way I could do the deal today) and they offered me a stupid # on a 15 Z06 with 4800 miles on it that has never seen rain or snow and has expel over the entire car (4400.00 cost) plus 10k in extras (original wheels with cup2 tires have 400 miles on them). They wanted 1500 (chevy loyalty rebate) off sticker or 72k plus fees for the car and I said no thanks I do not like getting screwed from both ends. I put a 5k deposit on an ordered car locally on Saturday and by the time it gets here I will have paid my Z06 off and will keep it. I have a loan on the z06 and lease my 2017 gmc dramax and a loan on my wife's Bmw x5 with the m sport pkg so I need to get rid of the loan on the Z06 to take on another ( I can do it with out paying off I just don't think the bank would allow it)

Selling privately is too much hassle for me and there is a tax savings if i trade instead of selling privately.

I agree if they are way under trade in for your car then that dealer is a scum dealer. If they are marking up the new car over MSRP, again, scum dealer. That doesn't make all chevy dealers scum. I see you are in Baltimore. It doesn't suprise me that you are finding this issue. My experience is to stay away from big cities when car shoping. While Im sure that doesnt instantly make you a scum dealer, it sure seems like you have a better chance of finding one in or near a big city. Before I even approach a sales guy on a car like the ZL1 1LE I call and find out if they are marked up over MSRP. If so, that dealer's chance for my business ends there. I laugh every time I see the yellow 2015 ZL1 sitting on a lot at a chevy dealer near Harrisburg. It used to set in the showroom with a mark-up on it. Now it's on the lot well below the MSRP and still sitting. I would assume because most people looking for a car like that are buying the gen6 now.

The other problem is dumbasses that will pay a markup a car. If people weren't so stupid ,dealers wouldn't be marking cars up.
