Texas speed headers clean swap with catted/cat delete pipes?

I really want to go with the texas speed 17/8 catless LT but due to inspection and emission reasons RI requires cats was wondering if the catted connection pipes and cat delete pipes are a clean swap so i could just change them out for inspection thanks

Nope. You'd have to swap the old headers and downpipe back on as well for inspection. Unfortunately there are two sets of cats that are directly where the long tubes go.

The catted version may not pass either. Only some states allow hi-flow cats. May want to check on that.

I installed a set today and they were "cat delete" but they have resonators that look like cats. You will have to get rear 02 bungs welded in if you want them to look legit. I would assume the "catted" pipes look the same.

If you live in a Nazi state like I do they will look for the readiness tests to be completed. Do you have HP Tuners?

Yes i have hp tuners i am more worried about the emissions side of things some shops may not even get it on a lift so if it is tuned out would it technically appear like i have cats

I’ve heard of buying catted pipes and gutting the cats out so it’s basically catless just looks catted

Also couple other things to note. the offroad pipes look like cats (not that i know of any shops lifting cars and checking). In RI you are allowed to have 1 readiness monitor not set on cars this new and still pass inspection. I have yet to determine if the O2 sensors being disabled will count as 1 or 2 but on a quick scan with my ngauge it looks like its just counting as one monitor for heated O2 test so you should still be able to get a sticker without having to ever put the cats on. When i had the turbo corvette I was able to get inspection stickers for this same reason without having to modify the cars setup although that car was a year 2000 and you are allowed to have 2 readiness monitors not set. I just made 600hp with the only mods being those longtubes and an ecs supercharer kit. If you want to go that route I'll gladly do the install for cheap!
