Here's my runs in the Hellcat....backed up my 10.5 from Alabama back in Nov. Interestingly, on that 10.57 pass car 22 was a 2016 2SS (I think) Camaro on nitrous. Man that was a good race! He said it was a 150 shot, but I think he might have bumped it to 200 on that pass based on his MPH. He said he'd been running 10.7s all day until our race. Neck and Neck all the way down the track LOL. My car would shift and pull a foot or two, then his car would shift and pull back up even with me...good stuff! I'm trying to see if I have video from it.

The times on the slip are an hour ahead for those curious. DA was pretty dang good...-100 or so I think.
That was me indeed! Great to meet you. Your car is impressive for sure!

I got two runs in - first one (and first time with the car) was:
1.95 60' (stock tires at 26 psi)
1/8 7.60 @ 100mph
11.49 @ 126.7 1/4

I had one more slower pass. Spun and had a 2.09 60' - 11.6 @ 126.

It was indeed crowded! I just need to figure out the tire psi and launch (who doesn't with a new car ). The car does the rest. I wish I would have had more of a chance to play with the launch more.

I was happy with that for a first pass, though. I'm looking at rear wheel and tire options for a drag-tire setup. It looked like the track was going away as the day progressed, but obviously a decent tire would have helped a ton.

My goal for the first time was an 11.4x so I walked away satisfied. Really impressed with the trap. It won't take much to get a 130mph trap. Remember when running in the 11s and 10s was actually difficult

I saw that blue Camaro. Impressive!

I pay close attention to the small details and thought it was time it was addressed.
Good eye for detail. The left lane at Beech Bend does seem to give odd MPH readings, while the ETs always match up. I typically avoid that left lane as there is a dip or something at about the 1/8 that can upset the car and gives me the heebee jeebees, but the day was ending and that line was shorter so I hopped in it. One other piece of data for that last run, I had dropped my tire pressure 2psi as my 60' had been off by .1 on the other two passes. I have a couple more settings I wanna test out in the car's setup and I wanna drop the tire pressure 2 more psi to see what happens.

Good MPH for sure and honestly not a bad ET on a 1.95 60'. I think dropping your tire pressure may help more than you think, if you can get that down to a 1.7 range 60' you'll be knocking on the 10s. Your idea of a dedicated drag tire/wheel setup is a good one though.

Yeah that "kid" in the Camaro really surprised me. He had DRs, said he had long tubes and no cats I think, and the shot of nitrous. That's a very fast pass for the amount of money spent!

I've got the 60' down to a consistent 1.74, but I think I'll be able to get into the 1.6s with more practice like I did with my 5th gen. I think with the combination of negative da and a great 60' on street tires, 10.9s will be achieved.
Sorry to dig up this old thread. I think now some ZL1s are just faster than others. I have at least 100 runs at Atco with the DA from -1,300 to +2,300. At the low DA My ZL1s top mph was barely 126. Last week @ the high DA my ZL1 was running mid 122s. So if your car is running 127 in the same air that is 4 1/2 mph faster. (+45 HP?) My only conclusion is that your car and the few other stock ZL1s running big MPH are factory freaks. I assume we are all running @ full weight. My ZL1 is 3,915 lbs and I am 225 so my race weight is 4,140. Are these fast ZL1s all 2017s? Maybe Chevy built some "special" ZL1s for testing and a few of these wound up on a lot. If so my car was an early 2018 but I didn't get the good stuff. But that sounds like fake news.

I am running Track mode, all nannies I can turn off are off. Oh and my SC lever is adjusted correctly and I am running 93 all the time. My only low 1.7 60' was right off the street with 34 pounds in the tire. I wonder if I am really running 93? Usually I buy gas at my local small town Sunoco. Hmmmmm.

Cool. Snapped any axles yet? The only HC I beat so so far was stock with DRs who snapped an axle on the line. So I beat a HC by 10 minutes with my slow ZL1.

Does LC help on the HC?

What are your times? I've not had any issues with axles and mine runs 10.50s - 10.70s consistently last time out before I made a few tweaks.

Lots of them running 9 second passes as well without axle issues.

LC seems to help with consistency.

I had planned on getting a set of 17" or 18" wheels and drag radials to bolt on for the track and sticking a set of drag radials on the factory wheels once the Goodyears wear out, but after this past weekend, I'm reconsidering replacing the Goodyears. I'm feeling very confident I can get deeper into the 10s this fall/winter after an 11.24, 11.20, and 11.14 in the blistering heat and humidity last Saturday. These were accomplished with two 1.71 60's and a new PB 1.69 60' on half worn tires. I don't know what the exact temps and such were, but I know it was very humid and 90 degrees +. I heard 3000+ DA mentioned a couple of times.

Your car definitely has 10.8 or quicker potential. Ask me how I know ? I would stick with the stock tires for a bit more and see just how much quicker you can go. When I checked the da on Saturday, it was +3300'. Your car is sick!!! Of course the doesn't drive itself, you're a hell of a driver too.

Is your car still "bone stock"??

I sold my A10 for a ZL1 1LE, so I won't be running 10s with it any time soon, or ever

11.14 is good in the heat for sure. The 60' seems OK, but I think it's back to that TM deal. Should go quicker I'm thinking....time to get a tune and dial some of that out

When it's this hot I'm sitting at the shop in the AC LOL.

With the Redeye announced, I'm stepping up my game

Curious. What is the fastest Zl1 time we have out right now? Official. Thanks.

Seems the answer is "it depends". The folks on this site get excited about what tires, how much fuel in the tank, how many squirts from the windshield washer, etc. I think it's a side effect of the official list that is maintained here that drops tire changes in to the "bolt on" category.

Haha, I don't care about mods tho. And neither should anyone else. Has anyone cracked the 8's yet? I'm trying to figure out how far these Zl1 tranny's can hold. I haven't heard of anyone snapping drive trains yet or blowing trannies yet, but then I haven't seen any crazy 1500 hp builds yet either. Just wondering.

I see Hennessey has done 9.5. Has anyone gone faster than that?
