In 100% agreement with this. Like how many MPGs did this really get us?

Its the clutch fuel cut that causes it. Try it with the clutch in and see if it still does it. Its designed like that.

We have bad rev hang? I've truthfully never noticed. Could be this:

I own a 93 RX7. This is the last manual I will ever own, and I've always owned manuals. The throttle reacts instantaneously to the gas pedal. It makes it a blast to drive. Every recent drive by wire throttle I've driven sucks (IMHO) in comparison.

Some people don't notice rev hang that is prevalent in modern vehicles. If you've driven a cable throttle vehicle for any length of time the rev hang in newer vehicles is readily apparent and is irritating as hell.

As best I can tell, the reason the manufacturers do this is for smog. Closing off the throttle quickly increases emissions which is verboten. Whether it is for smog or nanny engineering, I find drive by wire manuals too disappointing to drive. Automatics have the same issue however the tranny masks that from you for the most part. At least, until you need instant throttle and find you get a hesitation.

Exactly how I feel. Love manuals, but all this crap they tune into them makes them too irritating. Still love WOT shifting though

Just a quick note to anyone getting long tube headers. When I installed mine (and tuned) the rev hang got even worse and only in 1st gear now lol. Guess it's going to be something I need to live with if I want more power.

Wanted to revive this thread after I noticed something on my car.

My car is tuned for flex-fuel use, and I've only used a full tank of E85 twice. The first time being when I tuned my car for it and two nights ago.

It was then that I realized the use of e85 was causing this ridiculous rev-hang. Any on corn notice this as well and can it be tuned to make the rev-hang go away?

If I can get it tuned out, I’d do it in a heart beat after my warranty expires.
I swear it wasn’t this bad on my old S2000(AP2).
Now I’ve developed a habit of shifting really lazy.
What can I say... gotta adapt. I still love my SS.

I'm more annoyed of it in the lower RPM's because I drive this car in traffic daily, but when I get on it, powershifting is the only way to go
