I prefer the touchscreen with AA/CarPlay to the iDrive system. You can get CarPlay with touchscreen iDrive now, but CarPlay is really not designed to be used with a controller, and iDrive isn't designed to be used as a touchscreen.

Problem is, you have to lean forward to use the touchscreen and if it's bumpy, hope that your fingers will hit the right buttons, either that or run your seat way forward like a hobbit. The iDrive can be used from your resting position with your arm on the armrest and you can access all of the information from there, that's a far superior setup IME.

But, having something like the keyless touch-entry on the 4cyl camaro is one of those nice touches that really should be standard these days, and BMW charges you another $500 to 1000 for this feature.
