issues with Black OEM Rims

I have had my 2016 2ss for about a month when I noticed the front passenger rim was peeling. It appears that the clear coat on the rim was coming off. GM rep said it wasn't a defect in the rim but something I did. There is no other issues other than the one rim and I don't use any chemicals on them. Has anyone else had problems like this?

I have had my 2016 2SS for about a month. I was washing it when I noticed the front passenger rim was peeling. It appears that the clear coat on the rim was coming off. I took the car in and the GM rep said it wasn't a defect in the rim but something I did therefore not covered under the warranty. Yes I am currently in a fight with them. 2 of my silver rims had same issue. I think it is from wheel acid.

I fixed the problem, though. House of Kolors, black chrome.

As for the squeaky NPP valves, easy fix for me was a little spray of WD 40 at the hinge point of valve. You'll need a light even in day laughter. Locate the valve and give it a bit of spray at hinge inside exhaust. Problem solved for past 3 weeks with one spray on each exhaust side

I had this same issue (not as bad as yours), took it to the dealer and they warranteed out the two tins that were messed up. Just curious if you ever went through a auto car wash with pressure sprayers or ever pressure washed the rim yourself?

Not the first problem I've read about concerning Camaro's painted wheels...this is just ridiculous if you ask me. These cars aren't exactly cheap last time I checked so what's up with the wheels doing this??

Thought I was crazy, but I noticed a slight haze in places on mine. Wonder if its the start of this? Had mine less than a month.

i know its not Chevrolet but Tundras had the same issue with their chrome wheels. Toyota replaced all wheels.

No issues with mine at over 3 months and 3k miles. You should NEVER use wheel acid on wheels like these. That does certainly look like chemical damage.

Agreed, I've had mine since July 2nd already just under 7500 miles on it no issues like this. Something was used on your wheels that shouldn't have been. OP could have also driven over a canister of something on the road.
