Thought it was "no highs, no lows, must be Bose". That's been my experience with anything Bose.

Either way, there are better systems for the same money out there.

No highs for sure. I just drove mine for the second time and had the music up. It was like listening with a sinus infection and clogged ears. Otherwise, the car is awesome.

Yup. The only high frequency sound I here from mine is from the S/C.

Of course after flying helicopters for 20ish years I have some high freq hearing loss...

I am no audio audiophile, but the sound system in my ZL1 sounds cheap, shallow and tinny compared to every other car that I've owned in the last 20 years. Until I came across this thread, I thought I just had the radio and satellite radio adjusted wrong!

I was hoping there would be a quick fix like swapping out speakers but apparently this is not the case. I even called on Star to find out if the car had HD radio and OnStar told me that this was not offered after 2014. Of course, my wife's 2018 Mercedes has HD radio...

Exhaust in track mode, windows down - excellent sound system.


With that said, IMHO the sound field is too far forward, adjust balance back.. about 1/4 of way on slider and it sounds better.. to me anyway.

I like this idea...I am going to hit up my local audio specialty shop to have this done. I like to listen to a lot of deep base and the most annoying thing that can happen is the rattle sound coming from the passenger and driver side door which keeps me from turning it up loud.

GM normally uses Bose as their "premium sound" package. I'm sure someone at GM that has no clue about audio signed some deal with them. Bose is terrible at car audio for what you pay for. I wish someday that GM would switch from Bose.
