least favorite part of bottom mount is the oil scavenge pump setup but i guess its a decent trade off for the cons of top mount.

I'm not intending on selling this, it is for personal enjoyment. Why would I hide my works of art when I have the ability to build anything.
If you read my thread it said wow factor is biggest concern I'll be relocating my coil packs to the frame rails so the wires never get anywhere close to anything. Everything will be ceramic coated, then header wrapped or aluminum heat shielded. |

Making a 4" downpipe fit between a 3" window
Using custom oval mandrel bends, I only dabbled at it for about a hour today but tomorrow I'll be working on it all day tomorrow. Going to work on the passenger side manifold and connection pipe also. Going to make a oval pie cut bend to snake between the manifold and the steering shaft. Either that or I have a 2.5" mandrel 90 I'll cut in half and then roll out some flat pieces to weld on the inside and outside of the bend so that it isn't a piecut bend... Should be able to finish all the exhaust components this week but also have to build a custom header for a midget racer also this week. Also need to move the wastegate down lower. That is where I had it for the rear mount kit but now it needs to drop lower so it clears the hood. I'll continue to use the 38mm though as it has done amazing for us at holding boost. Even with that single wastegate on one single scroll we can hold 4lbs of boost spring pressure all day long, and use the boost controller to go past 2x spring pressure (have gone as high as 13lbs, can likely go higher just haven't done it yet) |

I will have to do a new oil filler neck, going to pop off the plastic one and weld on a aluminum bend then a new billet cap setup will go on. Need to do this to clear the wastegate and all.
Wastegate will route back in, I like the quietness of a recirculated wastegate and it acts as a brace for the wastegate and helps keep the downpipe from flexing so much Last edited by Goertz; 03-26-2017 at 04:12 PM. |

Need to re-assemble the spool valve so that the wg is on other side so it will clear things. Then put a 1" spacer in dp so that it will work with the spool valve then fully weld out out dp and all the fab work on hot side is complete

will be heat shielding all hot pipes with this style of heat shielding, as well as everything will be ceramic coated to begin with...
Love the finish it has. |

taking the hood back to my shop to smooth up that cut nice and neat.
If I go dp out the hood it frees up space I can build tubular manifolds for the turbo. |

so since things didn't end up staying under the hood the car is just going to get even more race car.
Gonna ditch the downpipe and logs and just do a tubular turbo header setup and 5"dp out the hood. There is plenty of room to keep the ac even without modding the ac lines so that will stay, gonna ditch the heater and factory water tank though, just going to do a swirl pot on the water pump to the radiator for a filler location and then do a remote mount overflow tank. Car is really just a good weather car, shows, night meets and track days. And I don't live in Cali so as long as I don't blow fireballs on the cop right beside me they don't much mind here in TX |
