Looks like I will need one based on typhoon's talk with Dave.

Yeah, I didn’t like any of the engine bay solutions either. I don’t want the filter heating up up there with all that under-hood temp. Mounting it under the car just makes more sense, just like all the older cars that came that way from the factory. The only engine bay filter setups I’ve seen are usually on diesels.

Thanks, Gabe! I'm just about to finish building my own kit, otherwise I definitely would’ve ordered one from you.

Sure, I’ll definitely share some pics once it’s all buttoned up. As soon as I’m back from vacation, I’ll need to drop the tank again. Looks like some of the DSX pumps are lifting the bottom cover plate and end up blowing out the O-ring seal, so I’ll have to take care of that first.

Yes, please travel safe! Sorry we missed you here in Switzerland. Be sure to text me the location of your keys, so I can make sure you ZL1s tires dont create flat spots HAHA

That sucks about the fuel pump... if only someone would develop an easy to install access hatch for fast pump changes and services...

Safe travels to you as well, Gabe! Would’ve been awesome to meet you in person while you were in Switzerland. I have a pretty good idea who to contact before I drop the tank the next time..

And haha, I’ll be sure to text you the location of my keys so you can finish up my fuel system and take the ZL1 for a spin, just doing my part to keep you entertained while you're on vacation.

What the heck caused that? The new dual in-tank pump setup you mean?

Didn't happen to mine since I'm not completely finished with the install yet. But it did happen to a friend of mine, and also to another guy I know.

Dave mentioned it could be from running too high pressure or powering up the system before uploading his software. But according to my friend, none of that applied, everything was running fine until around 2,000 miles in, then it suddenly lost fuel pressure.

When he checked, the cover plate was visibly warped and lifted on the outer edge, and the O-ring had blown out. He got a new, updated cover plate that's supposedly made stronger.

Dave said this kind of failure is very uncommon, but I just want to be on the safe side and install the updated plate now, especially while not everything is back together yet and it's still easier to drop the tank again.

Oh, ok. Thanks for the details. I'll assume anything shipping now will include the updated plate and I won't need to worry about it on mine.

Going to need one of these bro, especially after my XDI injector failure. The question is, do you need to replace stock lines to be able to do this or what? I'm sort of looking for something that doesn't make you have to run new fuel lines. Even if I have to cut the stock fuel line to install something like this in place, that's fine..
