Need to be sure we’re all talking on the same page. OP you asked about the vert specifically. So responses shouldn’t be generalized to the ZL1 as the coupe differs from the vert.

Sorry, didn't see the part where he asked about the vert specifically.

I went from a C6 Z51 to a C7 Z51 to a ZL1 and I’ve never looked back.

The sway bars and springs are also slightly different due the extra weight. I did not plan to track the car or of course I would have stayed with my Z06, I bought this car to have a fun open top experience as it's my weekend cruiser / have fun car, not my DD. I have a 16 GMC Yukon for that. Honestly, if the Z06 engine wasn't available in the Camaro, I would have bought a Z06 Vert instead. After doing the math, I saved over $27k for a full loaded factory ZL1 Vert that's "tenths" slower than the Z06 stock for stock. It handles great on the street and corners as well looks great doing it! I feel like we're in the 1960's muscle car era with all of these high HP cars available today...it keeps pushing each manufacturer to "one up" the other and we all win!

I've put grown men in the back of mine, you just have to move the seats forward enough to get them in, from there you can move the seats back if necessary. Having said that, it's not comfortable but it can be done.

Had similar thoughts.
If anyone has done this, what was the difference in $$ between the two? Did you lose a lot on the Vette and get a good deal on the Camaro? -Josh |

When I purchased my '15 vette back at the end of 2014, I got a great price.
Unfortunately, the same incentives, deals, GM supplier and such aren't the same, which unfortunately makes discounting the ZL1 almost non existent. You can get GMS pricing (employee), but need to have relative at GM. Costco pricing is ok, but still not that low. I am working w/ dealer now and trying to get them to discount about 3k or so, if it doesn't work, I can go through USAA, and possibly get a little bit better, which is kind of like Truecar. As for trading in vette, definitely not the best time to be doing it here in NJ. I am going to drive the ZL1, and then take go from there. I have an idea on numbers, which aren't stellar, so the car better knock my socks off. I can always wait and see if incentives get better, or just keep the vette, which really isn't a bad thing. |

ZL1 Vert offers neither PDR nor ELSD options. So no PTM.
The only factory options are: 1. A10 2. Navi 3. CF hood insert 4. Stripes Wouldn't mind an LT5 option with the TVS2650, tho

That is all that happens anymore. Gone are the days when the correct info is readily available on forums. It's now all about making money and the guys that have the correct info want to get paid for it... and the others that don't want to contribute so they post nothing but hearsay.

I got lucky because when I bought my 16 Z06, I paid about 20% off MSRP, so when I traded, I was almost neutral (trade price vs buy price). Sad part is that there's allot of trade-in 15 & 16 Z06 due to the the over heat & paint issues, so market saturation around me = lower trades. I really didn't loose, but that was because of the great initial purchase deal on the Vette. If I would have paid more, then yeah, could have been a not as attractive deal. So, with the buy price of my 17 Vert of $64k, I still came out ahead where my trade was still higher trade value, so no tax had to be paid, only title & plate transfer. I did shop the dealers (5 of them) even the ones that didn't have exactly what I wanted so I could play the highest trade against the the one I wanted to do business with & had the car that I wanted. It worked out, I'm happy. Wish you the best! |

> The ZL1 convertible has a conventional LSD. Not a big deal for street driving.
> Convertible does not have PDR option. It isn't focused towards track use. > Also has smaller roll bars and a more complaint/less track-focused suspension. > Sounds just as awesome as the regular ZL1 but without a roof so you can hear it better. > If you like power and convertibles you should get it. |
