anyone install red auto shift paddles?

has anyone installed these yet? I have them sitting on my work bench waiting to go on! just curious if the airbag actually has to come out. I looked at the parts diagram to get a better idea but it looks like its coming out.

It comes out, but is easy to remove. Just unplug the battery, and put a small flathead screwdriver in the side holes to move the spring out of the way. There are a few videos around showing it on a C7 (same same).

I'm going to get a set of these once the price is under $100, they look great!

yeah those are just stick on extensions, the ones i have are actual GM factory parts from the C7 corvette. they're a direct replacement.

Cool I’ll let you know how it goes, I’m gonna pop the airbag out tomorrow during lunch at my shop and see what’s up with it. I got them from thatcamaropartsguy.com and they’re seriously sweet. I’ll post pics tomorrow.

I installed these a couple weeks ago on my M6 "Rev Match" paddles but exactly the same application. It is so much easier than I expected.

1. Disconnect negative battery terminal and wait ten minutes
2. Insert small flat end screwdriver in each small hole on the side of the steering wheel and depress the spring loaded clip one at a time. This will release the airbag.
3. Pull the airbag forward but do not waste time/effort disconnecting any of the electrical connectors. just move it slightly out of the way with the slack in the wires.
4. Pull "fifty" badge off the bottom of the wheel or "SS" or whatever you have. This is clipped on.
5. Pull off the one piece bezel that houses both sets of steering wheel buttons and just move slightly out of the way. This is clipped on
6. Disconnect tiny electrical connectors to each paddle and remove one torx screw on each side.
7. Install red paddles and everything else in reverse order.
8. 15 minutes total after waiting 10 minutes after disconnecting the negative terminal
