You're out of your mind. The 370Z was closer to the GT than the GT was to the SS. And some of the 350Zs were beating the GT in the early 2000s but couldn't touch the Z28. And even in 09 the 370Z was keeping up with the 3V GT if not beating it. Those are just plain facts. You don't have to like it but it's true. The SS and the GT were neck and neck when the Coyote hit the S197 GTs. Then the Mustang got the S550 treatment and became slower in 2015. The SS was still the same because it was still the 5th Gen. The SS then went to the 6th gen style and got almost an entire second faster than it was. It now has been 4 model years of the S550 and Ford finally just now decides to make it fast enough to keep up with the competition. So the thing you can't understand is that the Mustang should have been at least a mid 12 with the introduction of the S550 instead of a 12.9 at best. But it wasn't. It got left in the dust by the Camaro. I can't spell it out any better for you. If you're that limited that you can't understand then there's no wonder you're a Mustang fanboy.

have you been drinking tonight? I have never disputed the 6th gen Camaro was faster than the S550. I dont own an S550 nor do fly a Ford flag. I have owned several Mustangs because the car has appealed to me since I was a teen and was readily available when I started driving plus the aftermarket is 2nd to none, But I have owned a couple Chevy's , a Formula Firebird, Acura TL, 4runner, Nissan Murano, 2 Hyundais, rocked a Buick Park Ave also. I've even gone so far as to say I would have bought a Camaro over the Mustang if I were buying in 15/16. If that makes me a Mustang fanboy... ![]() I think you just don't like being called out on your B.S. though |

6th Gen Camaro SS was out in 2015 bro. Come on. Challengers and Chargers were htitting low 12s in the non-Hellcat versions. Lots of them were hitting high 11s on fast lists and thru vendors just like LMR. But since I don't count that I'll say they were all in the 12.2 range. Which is still a far distance from what the GT was doing. Where was the GT? Oh right, 12.9 at best. And to get into the low 12s they needed LTs, tune, cai, axles, DRs, and sometimes even an IM/TB upgrade. Just to keep up. |

You've been to a track and you dont see a 12.0 stock car as respectable? There are people in this forum, mustang forums and dodge forums that cant go 12.0s in their modded cars. I've seen boosted cars here (zl1 and boosted SS) not go 11s, be it tire issues, driver issues or tuning issues. So yes, a guy rolls up next to you in a modded muscle car built in the last couple years that you just beat by a few tenths and you say you're stock when he asks what you have, he's gonna have hurt feelings. A Mustang doing low 12s is not respectable when it is the last Muscle Car to finally get that fast. The SS has been doing it for 3 model years now. The CHallys have been doing it for quite some time. And now finally the GT gets there and we're supposed to be impressed? They're years late to the party bro. They spent the last few years just barely beating Evos, WRXs, and 5.7 Hemi Chally/Chargers and getting their asses kicked by everything else. And even still this testing has nothing to compare it to. I wouldn't be surprised if nobody else can duplicate this run by LMR. And what, you want us to respect the Mustang dude? You're on the wrong forum pal. Why do you Mustang nuthumpers keep coming over here expecting us to have respect or to cheer for your crappy car? LOL!! You literally have tons of Mustang forums yet you come here of all places and get pissy when we tell you we don't respect the GT? I swear you guys have brain damage or something. |

MT, 370Z, tested 13.3-13.6. And I didn't say the SS did a 12.2. I said it is in the 12.2 range. Which it is since Hotrod magazine pulled off a 12.21 and MT did a 12.3 while others did 12.4. Try paying attention and a little bit of reading comprehension. Quote:
And the Supra NEVER "raped" a Vette. Bone stock the Supra was a low 13. Guess what the LT1 powered Corvette was running. Low 13s. Oh, and what about the mid 90s ZR1 Vette? That was running a 12.9 and the only car that could touch it in the same price range or cheaper was the Viper. So you really have no idea what you're talking about. Supras, 300ZXs, 3000GTs, and even the Skyline (with exception of the R32 or whatever it is called) were not beating GM. They were kicking Ford's ass all over the place but not GM. |
