Re-designing the front grille that only a mother could love would help the Malibu immensely.

The Malibu is being redesigned for MY2019. Unlike the cars they are killing off, this is pretty much a done deal with a camouflaged test fleet in the wild.

In MY2019, GM is apparently coming out with a new line I4 engines with larger displacement. I'm pretty confident in saying that a V6 is very unlikely. The current Premier trim with the 2.0L isn't exactly a slouch -- it hits 0-60 in 6.2 seconds, only about half a second slower than the Camaro I4 Turbo.

I'm keeping a close eye on this. The Malibu is on my radar as my next daily unless a crossover like the Fiesta Active in my first post ends up being very nice. Or else get a used Renegade, which have taken a huge depreciation hit way steeper than what's even considered normal, especially considering their popularity. But the interior is not as nice, plus FCA products are kinda shit.

I realize that most people just don't care about cars and want something to get from point A to point B and that's why brands like Honda flourish, but damn.

I mean, these just look like everything else on the road. There is zero appeal or personality:

The Camaro and Vette are hot though.
Good luck with your Mopar purchase.......nothing but problems down the road at least that was my experience.

Agree...I had a loaner LTZ Impala last summer when I had issues with my Camaro, had it for over a week. I am not a big car sedan guy, but I loved it! Rode very nicely, had tons of room, and the exterior was/is very attractive.

Funny that this popped up on here. I was at the dealership today and the salesman tried to get me to buy an Impala for my wife. He commented that I should get it while I could because they were being phased out in 2019

Thankfully, the Camaros are not listed on the ax list
I have ZERO respect for the UAW, basically legalized Mafia. And they are partially the reason for Chevy's, Ford and Chrysler products being so expensive.

This. Chargers look like ass and Challengers have a nice old school look but the Camaro is just down right sexy.

EDIT: Derp, thought you were talking about the Camaro SS. Back to my hole.

Hey, Rocks, before you blow up the unions, read a few accounts of Ford pre unions. And Ford was the best of the bunch.

Poor Service...

GM is also hurting because of how they treat their customers, I work for a 22 Billion dollar company, we are moving from Chevy trucks to Ford now for our fleet (think about that). The GM dealership service centers are insanely poor. I drive over 120K worth of Chevy Vehicles. I live in So. Cal. and there are 7 dealerships within 30 minutes of where I live, only two are worth even speaking with. Even then it's almost certain that the service manager will have to be involved with any conversations if something needs to be repaired correctly/on-time. I have a 2SS that's been to the dealership for paint issues never corrected (three visits). The Mylink voice commands do not work (two visits) not corrected. Seat coolers work half the time, because the motors are running the dealership says there isn't anything else they can "think" of to do. There is noise coming from everywhere, I was told it's the "fan" it's most likely the rear-end or TC. I also have a company provide 2014 4 x 4 Silverado, the air conditioning went out 5 weeks ago. I took it in, they said parts were on back order, no one called me, when I went to pick up the truck they had done 150 dollars worth of unauthorized work and said the back ordered part would be 1,000 dollars. The same dealership did 500 dollars worth of unauthorized work on the truck when I took it in for an oil change. The service writer said it's a fleet truck, we always do this. I'm a supervisor, I know they do NOT always do this unless it is approved work. I called about the AC again last Thursday, the services writer said "he was looking into it" and that he'd call the next day... never heard back, it's 95-110 degrees here. I love the 2SS but this is absurd. My wife has driven Hyundai Santa Fe's and Tucson's for over 17 years, one recall that was taken care of in 4 hours. Customer Services was great. We bought the Santa Fe when our daughters were in high school. They are 36 and 34 now, the youngest still drives it. Would I buy a Hyundai for myself, no. But when we take her car in for service, it is done on time, no one seems to be running around like a chicken with their heads cut off looking for answers, they are well staffed. Etc. The sad thing is, I read these threads and the lack of Customer Service is everywhere, perhaps GM needs to take ownership of the problem before it's to late and even Vette and Camaro's are taken out of production. If that were to ever happen, you know it's the quality and service because Vette and Camaro owners put up with a lot of $hit that other consumers never encounter. Sorry for the rant guys...

Whomever sign's off on the styling at GM should be fired. That is the main reason they are failing. Not rocket science. How many grilles does one car need? They put three on more than one model and that front end is a deal killer along with cheap plastic interiors.
Also it is typical for GM to shut down a factory as workers near retirement status. Retirement is huge overhead.

I personally like the Impala and Malibu but they should make a SS version of each, maybe a hopped up V6 version for the Malibu and a 5.3 version for the Impala. Probably wouldnt save either car but it would attract some new buyers.
